we will not forgive, we will not forget - immatellyouwhat, on 06/20/2009, -4/+132I use Chromefox Safopera 8, where have you guys been?!
- drex8, on 06/20/2009, -3/+112Isn't this the 3rd similar topic about IE8 to hit the Digg front page today?
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+93it was done in photoshop. i can tell by the pixels.
- PityDaFool, on 06/20/2009, -3/+83I saw a chart recently that showed how MS Paint was far superior to Photoshop.
- callmebas, on 06/20/2009, -12/+82***** Internet Explorer.
- tfletch, on 06/20/2009, -14/+82Stop talking about IE... who gives a *****. Everyone knows what to do now. It'll go away soon. Just shut up about this trendy geek *****.
Pick: Safari 4, Firefox, Opera, and Chrome.

Stop feeding the blogs Digg. - FiP0, on 06/20/2009, -1/+62Yeah it's speed dial, named after the feature taken from Opera.
- walruspanzer, on 06/20/2009, -1/+56Edit: "Speed Dial" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/481 ...
- yocouchdigga, on 06/19/2009, -10/+64reaching much, Microsoft?
- marytormey, on 06/19/2009, -10/+57I use all three, but I like Google Chrome the best because it shows all my favorite sites at my home page instead of just one and it plays the NASA channel.
- walruspanzer, on 06/20/2009, -8/+52There's a firefox addon that supports that feature. Page dialer or something
- DirtyVicar, on 06/20/2009, -3/+44But how exactly does IE8 enhance and simplify the process of Grandpa clicking on a cute dancing mouse site and ending up with a cavalcade of trojans and keyloggers? I'll put IE8 on his computer, but if he doesn't have 175 rogue processes in Task Manager by August someone's gonna pay.
On a serious note, if IE8 takes off, I fear we're going to be back to those ***** sites that come up blank and say "This website requires Internet Explorer" like what used to go on several years ago. If market share gets uneven again then that kind of thing might start happening again. - neo991lb, on 06/20/2009, -1/+41NEEDS MORE UNINTELLIGIBLE RED MARKS.
- Brododium, on 06/20/2009, -0/+30Incognito mode, it's called.
No cookies, no browsing history, no embrarrassment. - Hraes, on 06/20/2009, -3/+32Ooh, Chromefox. Sounds marketable.
- jaxter2010, on 06/20/2009, -1/+27I don't know why they even include the "developers" row. Any web developer
1. Knows whats up, and will ignore this chart as B.S
2. Want a lot more complete dev tools than whats bundled with IE. - CptCheerios, on 06/20/2009, -12/+35One fail on that post. A lot of sites run on Chrome, but not all do eg instant action, more sites run on firefox, but a hand full don't, the rest run on IE. Person got a little to over zealous with the red ink
- jakeou812, on 06/20/2009, -5/+27Nope. I'm running into all kinds of sites now that don't work with IE 8. That's why they need "compatability mode". I think that presently more sites run on Firefox correctly than IE. My work never let us use alternate browsers before, but after IE8 they turn a blind eye. IE has simply been beaten, in all ways.
- uRmyHartBstopR, on 06/20/2009, -8/+29They didn't even try to improve on their ***** IE until Firefox came along (and they had years before firefox!). It's too ***** late. Competition is a bitch and you lost Microbitch.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -6/+26Where's the Opera love? :(
- Trollbane, on 06/20/2009, -2/+22The problem is IE is still the most used browser.
- LaughingMan89, on 06/20/2009, -0/+18I wonder what this chart will look like the fourth time I see it?
- Decimit, on 06/20/2009, -0/+16@djgreedo
Possibly it's complete disregard for web standards. It's lack of security features that allow viruses and malware to be automatically loaded. It's inability to adopt features until everyone else has done it first and still not be the best at it. - rand21althor, on 06/20/2009, -0/+14Ah, yes, Google Chrome's porn mode.
- theoryextinct, on 06/20/2009, -1/+15Just install Chrome, remove shortcuts to IE. If you really want to be deceptive, replace the chrime icon with an IE icon. Just tell him they updated IE. :D
- nicktomyskins, on 06/20/2009, -1/+141. chrome firefox version
http://googlechromeskins.blogspot.com/2008/10/fire ...
or
2. firefox chrome version
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/878 ... - waluigi14, on 06/20/2009, -2/+15Safari does that too (top sites view). You can even manually add your own.
- trixyfox, on 06/20/2009, -0/+13With Paint, the only limit is your imagination.
- Hraes, on 06/20/2009, -3/+15It's dying out. Slowly, yes, slower than we'd like, but it is losing users.
- cal0140, on 06/20/2009, -0/+12Firefox 3.5 has "Private Browsing Mode" built in, same idea.
- Zippo, on 06/20/2009, -6/+18IE8 is pitiful when it comes to web standards... Only gets 20% on the Acid3 test - even the browser on my phone gets in the 90s.
- Krelas, on 06/20/2009, -1/+13Firefox has an addon for that too
- snugglebunnywit, on 06/20/2009, -8/+19I use FireFox and LOVE IT!!!!
- greevar, on 06/20/2009, -1/+12Intercourse Exploder?
- jugglingjon, on 06/20/2009, -2/+12"W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. These people are more interested in using alternative browsers than the average user. The average user tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes preinstalled with Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers.
These facts indicate that the browser figures above are not 100% realistic. Other web sites have statistics showing that Internet Explorer is used by at least 80% of the users."
The w3schools browser stats are useless. - cleantoe, on 06/20/2009, -9/+19It's clear from the red ink that 1) The author of the website is an FF fan, and 2) He doesn't know what he's talking about regarding Chrome.
I use Chrome completely now, except sometimes I *have* to switch to IE because there are a few websites that don't load correctly on Chrome. I have never experienced an issue like that using IE.
That leads me to suspect that the author of the website was just out to Micro-bash and sing about the amazing FF. - 3The3Dude3, on 06/20/2009, -6/+15I won't even put Safari on my machines. God forbid I want to sync my iPhone, I open one program and the next thing you know I have like 12 apple processes running.
- Hraes, on 06/20/2009, -9/+18Why does this bother you?
- collution, on 06/20/2009, -1/+10"command of reason and lucid perception really solidified it for me"
Give me a break. - lamiaconfitor, on 06/20/2009, -2/+11to demdude, the problem with that is it shows everyone your porn sites when they borrow the compy.
- Domthedude001, on 06/20/2009, -0/+9He never stated that it bothered him.
- mikedoth, on 06/20/2009, -3/+12This is what you get when MS hires a blog monkey. IE is waste, if anything it should only be used to download a better browser.
- dixta, on 06/20/2009, -0/+9"Care to explain why you have an irrational dislike for IE? You know, actual reasons?"
I could go on and on about security, stability, extensibility etc, all of which IE completely FAIL at..... but one reason I'll happily put forward now is that every time it adds a new feature like tabs, or a new level of CSS support, it's always accompanied by a massive fanfare of "Aren't we BRILLIANT!!! Just LOOK at this product!!!! What a fantastic idea!!!", despite the fact that they've shipped said feature YEARS after they were beaten to it by a bunch of "unwashed, disassociated commie nerds" (basically the best right-wing perception of open source developers that I could come up with). - Bic823, on 06/20/2009, -0/+9*head asplodes*
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -0/+8*****
- jakeou812, on 06/20/2009, -1/+9I have run into websites that don't work with IE8. Mostly html based web guis. I'm actually forced to use FF on a lot of company resources that wont work on IE8.
- kineticarl, on 06/20/2009, -0/+7Opera has speed dial built-in, firefox has something similar as an add on. Safari's is pretty, of course.
- aserer511, on 06/20/2009, -0/+7he's using IE6...
Is that possible? Does he use 56k and lycos? -
