- copa31, on 06/01/2009, -1/+90great now all my friends will know absolutely that I'm addicted to playing Viva PiƱata :(
- InMSWeAntitrust, on 06/02/2009, -3/+77I feel a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of angsty pre-teens on Xbox Live tweeted.
- BoutDemCanes91, on 06/02/2009, -6/+64WTF, why don't they just add a web browser to xbox so i can go on pornhub on my 360. ***** twitter, i dont need that crap
- zatyka, on 06/02/2009, -12/+65Why is any of that needed?
- baldbomber, on 06/02/2009, -3/+35The 360 is already the entertainment hub of our home. We watch tv and movies from a library of mp4's I stream to it.
- dslfreakdude, on 06/02/2009, -5/+36and FML?
Today I was playing xbox naked when I realized my motion camera was still on. - BrownieMix, on 06/02/2009, -6/+29If they really want to broaden the social experience, they should allow us to play games online with Xbox Live Silver.
- bubbameister33, on 06/02/2009, -1/+21It still won't help me get any vagina.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+19That's kinda what Microsoft said they were going to do with it when they launched the first XBOX. No surprises here, really.
- shininia, on 06/02/2009, -3/+21The first gen 60GB ps3s go for about 400$, sell it and stfu.
- Grazzit, on 06/02/2009, -2/+19because it doesn't have a web browser
- Johntotherescue, on 06/02/2009, -2/+14probably to prevent homebrew. dugg for pornhub reference
- Memnochxx, on 06/02/2009, -1/+13Nothing wrong with Viva Pinata. I picked it up again last night and played until 2 in the morning. :-/
- seedsofwar, on 06/02/2009, -0/+12w-w-w-wii
talk about gimmicks. - inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+11So does this mean Last.fm will be free if i have a gold subscription and live in Canada?
- andreo, on 06/02/2009, -0/+11I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't a Hulu announcement. Maybe next year.
- Grazzit, on 06/02/2009, -2/+11Don't forget Hulu
- flarn2006, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10Keyboard support? Already there. Mouse support? Not sure about that.
- flarn2006, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10They already do. You posted it on Digg!
- gojcaj, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10"In a slightly creepy twist, you'll no longer have to sign into your Live account; the system will know who is playing it by your face." Whoaaa. The whole "try on clothes" virtually actually sounds cool, but we know it's going to look and work like *****.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -2/+10"These stupid gimmicks will never succeed. Look at eye toy, complete failure."
Lol @ the comparison to eye toy. If you have seen the video's of it in action especially the interaction with Milo you will see this is far more complex then the BS eye toy from the PS3. Like you said it's a gimmick. Doesn't mean you don't have to buy it so not sure why people bitch about it. - CrazySpaniard, on 06/02/2009, -0/+8I prefer tube8
- RoboJesus, on 06/02/2009, -1/+9Maybe this isn't the right thread for this, but anyway-
I've had a 360 and PS3 and used both as a media center, and I have to say I really like the PS3 a lot more. It's quick, clean, and simple, opposed to the garish neon green of the 360 interface. Granted, when I had a 360 it was before the new interface came out. I'm not sure how much that changed things, but I imagine it didn't make that sucker any quieter. Still wish I could play Fable 2 and the new Metal Gear game though :( - flarn2006, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8Yeah. We can on the PC, so why not the 360?
- xino, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8@crazyspaniard Facebook, twitter, and last.fm are free on the PC. Also, people play GTA 4 and other games on XBL as well as other services for free when on the PC and PS3 so what are Xbox and Xbox 360 users paying for exactly? That's right. They are paying to play on Xbox and Xbox 360. I personally don't have a problem paying for XBL, but I still respect other people's decisions on what the important principles in life are. Remember that what people think is ethical varies and some times not paying for some thing is just them sticking up for what they believe in and has nothing to do with them being cheap or them not having enough money.
- Lionhart, on 06/02/2009, -4/+11When are they ever going to learn? These stupid gimmicks will never succeed. Look at eye toy, complete failure. The only way gimmicky hardware succeeds is if you bundle it with the console at launch. (Hell even the PS2's hard drive was a failure because of this).
- B1665r, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8My halo friends would never let me live it down that I had Boogie Bunnies in my most recently played list...
- Diggnabbit, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8Because having an all-purpose entertainment/social hub would be awesome? And someone is going to develop it and be really successful, so their all trying to get their first.
- billjimbob, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7I prefer MS doing this rather than just putting a Web Browser on the 360. Have you used the browser on the PS3? It's horrendous, probably since the PS3 has such low RAM (roughly the same with the 360). You can't even stream 480p Hulu videos without the video lagging (regardless of network speed). Plus the browser has crashed my console more than once. I like the idea of having the services integrated right into the console (fingers crossed for Hulu some day).
And this isn't like Nintendo, where they go after the casual market and abandon the rest. Did you see Microsoft's E3 conference? Alan Wake, two Halo games, FF13, Metal Gear Solid, Left 4 Dead, Forza 3... I can't wait. This social networking stuff compliments the games - it doesn't replace it. - inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6Judging by this thread - people who own consoles are a bunch of ***** babies.
- pico303, on 06/02/2009, -7/+13Would have been my entertainment hub a long time ago, if it didn't sound like a jet engine.
- sanman, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6so you can yell "MAXIMUM SPEED!" or "MAXIMUM ARMOR!" and be sure that everybody at home hears you
- baldbomber, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5I rip them myself in mp4. Then they are ready for the ipod when I want to load it up for road trips. Plug that into the dvd screens in the car and I have days worth of movies for the kids.
- Vindexus, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6You're a sad sad little man.
- bashmohandesx, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5I don't know what is the point of having a browser on a home device, you are at home can't you use your pc?
- lololol1, on 06/02/2009, -20/+25g-g-g-gimmicks
(natal, that is) - Ajajadude, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5But I think it requires a special laser, not your standard DVD laser
- flarn2006, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6"...and the proceeds from the song's sales will go to Doctors without Borders. All the hate from Sony fans will go directly to the comments."
And all the HeadOn will go directly to the forehead. - handheldchimp, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4My dad bought Viva Pinata for my 5 year old brother a few months back...guess who plays it now :/
- xino, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4Twitter and Facebook on Xbox 360 are just applications that interact with the website, but they aren't actually websites.
- sevenalive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+5Well the Wii made me the Iron Chef of pounding vag!
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4ah, nice effort
- suntzusputnik, on 06/02/2009, -2/+6i don't know of any company that has
- yocouchdigga, on 06/02/2009, -2/+6Sorry 360 fanbois... I own both and I like my 360, don't get me wrong but I use the ps3 more.
- Anand999, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4The Last.fm part seems useful, especially if you have your Xbox hooked up to a home theatre system.
- kibbledbits, on 06/02/2009, -2/+6Hulu is based on Flash, which Microsoft competes with (Silverlight) so I don't see that any time soon. However Hulu does work on the PS3.
- xino, on 06/02/2009, -1/+5The point of the web browser on a home device is that you don't have to go to your PC which allows someone else to use the PC as you browse the web on your home device. While that's a nice option, it's not a real important one and I don't care if X360 ever gets one.
- AFLunatic, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3It doesn't have to be piracy -- you can own the media and back it up yourself.. XenonMKV
- dippyskoodlez, on 06/02/2009, -2/+5Head On apply directly to forehead.
- RoboJesus, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Why are both of you so retarded? Vindexus, you're cool.
