You'd also have to be an idiot to believe the Microsoft was trying to hit that angle - because, you know, when people are just sitting on the side of the street and a company comes up to them and asks them what they're doing, naturally they're going to respond with the fact that they are a PC followed by what they do for a living.

- dcharti, on 09/19/2008, -13/+190Absolutely LOVE the new ads, and the genuine human touch is the perfect way to finally start recovering from the damage Apple has done with the "Get a Mac" campaign. I think the ads would be even stronger by not even touching on the Hodgeman reference in the beginning. Just launch into the humanity and all the real world places that PCs and Windows are used that Macs may not yet go. Break the stereotype with the people and visual anecdotes, don't bother saying "I'm going to break the stereotype." It's kind of a pointless step and an unnecessary acknowledgment that Apple is partly responsible for this negative public perception.

This ad pretty much ***** on the Apple ads. Hopefully, I won't have to listen to pre-pubescent Justin Long acting all smug and smarmy in front of a white background ever again.
