ASUS may ship two-screen Windows 7 notebooks in Q1

blogs.computerworld.com — Asustek, also known as ASUS -- the people who make the Eee PC -- plans to ship new notebooks that have touch screens on both the top (where the screen normally goes) and the bottom (where the keyboard normally goes) as early as the first quarter of next year, according to a report. The laptops are designed to work with the upcoming Windows 7.

    Two screens will hurt battery life. That will suck. But it will balance against everything that has been done in recent years to reduce power consumption. It's about time we added some new features.

The webcam on top swivels 180 so I be recording something in front of me while I'm sitting at my laptop. My ASUS monitor is the first mainstream monitor to have a piece of glass protecting the screen.

    And what about the EEE PC? They completely changed the PC market like no one else has in years. There's also express gate which is a small linux based OS that boots in a very short amount of time allowing you to quickly check your email or talk on skype.

    They also have the first fanless GPUs that actually work and stay cool. Look around on NewEgg and you'll see them.

    They might be quite experimental, but they do deliver as well.
