- inactive, on 01/09/2009, -0/+15Oh, right. For a second there I got all excited about pulling out my old Commodore 64 for some GEOS action.
- pip182, on 01/09/2009, -1/+11I was pretty impressed with gOS 3.1, but I don't think I would replace my current ubuntu with it.
- gizram84, on 05/30/2009, -1/+11great step for alternate operating systems
- LilJimmyNordin, on 01/09/2009, -1/+8GLaDOS > gOS
- martyFREEDOM, on 01/09/2009, -0/+61. It's google, not googs. Do you like sounding like a 3 month old?
2. gOS is developed by various people in the Open Source community, not by google. - JakeW, on 01/09/2009, -0/+6It's not an OS by Google, just an OS that uses a lot of Google products.
It also uses meebo, but you aren't saying that meebo's keeping a tab on you. - Sabretou, on 01/09/2009, -0/+6Download more RAM
- MCA2142, on 01/09/2009, -1/+6Hey gOS, no more myspace ***** please.
- burkay, on 01/09/2009, -0/+4...you forgot to mention the size of your penis.
- obinoavay, on 01/08/2009, -4/+8Anything ubuntu-ish is loved
- T8erT0T, on 01/09/2009, -0/+4I just find it a waste of a distro. It's just window dressing.
- jonstafari, on 01/08/2009, -1/+4its not much more than a scaled back and prettier ubuntu.
- Chicken001, on 01/09/2009, -0/+3MUAHAHahHAhaHAHaH, you're so funny. It's called GOOD OS not GOOGLE OS.
- RobotBuddha, on 01/09/2009, -1/+4It's a cool idea, but I'm getting a bit disappointed in the amount of distros that are basically just a collection of packages. I remember back in the day when there were real, significant, differences because the people who put them together also wrote large amounts of code that differentiated them from the rest of the pack. it's about saving someone a days worth of downloading instead of a months worth of coding. The latter impresses me, the former not so much.
- jbmcb, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2It's still around! A company called Breadbox Software sells it, ported to the PC with a bunch of office apps for use in cheap and low-powered PCs.
Kind of cool, but also kind of sad - they charge $25 for a paint app that looks just marginally more capable than Windows Paint. - SuperCujo, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2I was thinking the same thing.
That makes us serious nerds - joshuampeterson, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2128MB? Stop bragging.
- zip000, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2I tried putting it on an old ass computer for an internet kiosk, but it was entirely too slow.
I'm not slamming gOS - I think it is pretty neat. The old ass computer was just too old and crappy. - PrometheusBorn, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2I had a GEOS 5 1/4" floppy, but never did figure out what the hell it was when I had a C64.... probably because I got it when I was 5.
- Azathothh, on 01/09/2009, -1/+3install XP
- anonydigg, on 01/09/2009, -3/+4I tried it and it was a piece of crap. It hung all the time.
- time4wrk, on 01/09/2009, -0/+1How do I download more RAM? Link Plox!
- JudgeDredd, on 01/09/2009, -1/+2I agree with you. Look you clowns. Google likes to harvest what you do online and sell the statistics to other companies so that they can better market their products. That is their bread and butter.
- Kragnerac, on 01/10/2009, -0/+1At least with gOS you can Google up a recipe to bake cake.
- MattBD, on 01/09/2009, -0/+1I like it, but at the same time I really don't think it's that well suited to me - I'm more of a KDE man. gOS is a great OS for the non computer-savvy.
It's also an interesting glimpse into the future - the way it revolves around web apps is something that I think is likely to be adopted by more operating systems over the next few years (yes, even Windows and OS X). - inactive, on 01/10/2009, -0/+1I tried gOS on my laptop and the fonts were all wrong. I changed them and all but still looked really bad.
- flashingcurser, on 01/10/2009, -0/+12K maybe....
- burkay, on 01/09/2009, -0/+1its purpose is not to make you replace your current linux distribution. AFAIK, it is aimed at low cost PCs such as the ones sold at WalMart, old PCs with restricted memory and CPU power, kids, grandmothers etc.
- OCPaul, on 01/09/2009, -2/+2Nice picture of Microsoft Live search on a Google Chrome Browser they got loL
- MwMike, on 01/09/2009, -0/+0Not quite as good as what I've seen of PartyOS (which is an unfinished Xubuntu derivative from T3hparty.org), though decent.
- inactive, on 01/09/2009, -3/+1very good
- jsnkc, on 01/09/2009, -7/+2Damn...I only have 128MB of RAM :(
- anthropodeus, on 01/09/2009, -6/+1wtf . . . my OLD computer's VIDEO CARD had 256MB!
- deltron, on 01/09/2009, -11/+3Now Google can keep a tab on you at ALL TIMES! MUAHAHahHAhaHAHaH
- olias123, on 01/09/2009, -12/+0Keep it coming googs... You guys are awesome!
