- amcnabb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32There's a mirror in progress at:
http://wasatchlinux.com/tuxcake/blog.josephhall.com/tutorials/tuxcake/ - mookau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9very VERY unwise thing to say in a linux based community. (i know we dont all use linux, but we all love it)
- jessestay, on 01/21/2009, -0/+8The chocolate outside was awesome - so sad to have to eat it :-(
- rickcarson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7If you get strippers for your 10th Anniversary, either you have a very liberal partner... or I'll take odds that you won't get to have an 11th.
- harleypig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7He's a really good chef (and a pretty decent programmer too :). He does a good job making things clear and making you interested in what he's writing about.
- jsilva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6O_O they are eating tux!!
- falloutsyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6OpenCake. Quick some one get Linus Torvalds one for his birthday!
- grungyhamster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'd digg it if it would load.
-EDIT-
Okay, dugg. - rickcarson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow. That is truly awesome. Thanks for the mirror.
(Finally a Linux 'application' created by someone who understands what a good 'user experience' is all about) :D - amcnabb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's a shame that the server is struggling. These are some awesome pictures.
- Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Hey where's the home-brewed root beer?"
Sorry, our brewing stations were running Ubuntu. The best we could do is sudo beer. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is the world's coolest, greatest, most stupendous and amazing post in the history of the interneting world, EVER!
- iakupo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is the most awesomely geeky thing I've heard of today ++digg
PS. How much better is this made from the bean chocolate than say cadbury's?
I LOOVE cake, and I have a ubuntu windows dual boot on my laptop.
Personally I prefer cheescake, hmm a TUX cheesecake maybe?
That would be awesome. - ryanisflyboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The cake tasted amazing too. He did a great job. For more information about why we were celebrating you can check out the PLUG site:
http://www.plug.org
A lot of work went both in to the cake, and the meeting itself. It was great listening to him talk about how he created it. The creator of the chocolate came as well (he is a fellow geek). He creates his chocolate straight from the bean. The way they outer skin was described: "It's like a tootsie roll, but a really GOOD tootsie roll." - ryanisflyboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The mirror is complete. Everyone please help us out by modding up the parent. The mirror is a little beefier than the main site.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You used WTF and Linux in the same sentence? You're insane!
- rickcarson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Oh, but it *benchmarks* like a crazy biotch. :-P
- garethevans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It gives me great pleasure to see my two greatest interests, cake and linux (in that order), combined.
- rickcarson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You said insane and Linux in the same sentence! You're correct. :D
- chesterjosiah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just the cake:
http://wasatchlinux.com/tuxcake/blog.josephhall.com/tutorials/tuxcake/DSC09253-640.jpg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Worlds greatest 3D cake? Don't all cakes exist in 3 dimensions? It's that third dimension that makes them taste ohh so good.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://duggmirror.com/linux_unix/World_s_Coolest_Tux_Linux_Cake doesn't have it. :(
- DarkSorrow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Look like the site about to get dugg.
I went to duggmirror.com and it said it cant mirror it because it just stop while they try to mirror it. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2An open-source Tux cake... Too awesome.
- JorgeGT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahh programming is like cooking - a matter of care and perfectionism applied with love.
"Cookies need love, like everything does." anyone? - hathawsh, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Delicious too. Made by a geek chef--check out his blog.
http://blog.josephhall.com/ - j00fek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1another site brought down by the digg effect :)
- amcnabb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Joseph posted some pictures from the PLUG 10th anniversary at http://blog.josephhall.com/ including some pictures of cutting Tux open.
- JolietJake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I luv cake.
- D3THk4t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Better than OpenCola I hope ;)
- stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+03D, as opposed to a normal round or square cake you get at your local grocery store. Usually these cakes end up being carved into fancy shapes, like a volcano, or in this case Tux.
- heyy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0linux has great logos. i like the dick tracy hat and the tribal spear.
- jayceh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very noticeable difference. Even after being formed into the modeling chocolate this stuff really stood out compared to most anything you'll find. I can't wait for more of this chocolate.
Oh, and check out the authors blog. He has some tricks for doing 'Perfect Cheescake' also. Last month he even brought a lot of Cheescake Tartlets for everybody. - diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4might wanna beef up your server there linux boy.
- amcnabb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wish Joseph had used red velvet cake on the inside.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Nope, no duggmirror either.. :(
- mancat, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Typical boring Mormon party. Cakes, board games, musical chairs... Hey where's the home-brewed root beer?
It's your tenth anniversary. Where the strippers is at? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3We need a dugg mirror, its slowing down already (45 Diggs).
- kablam, on 10/12/2007, -26/+3You said cool and linux in the same sentence? WTF?
