Wine 1.0 RC4 Released!

winehq.org — The popular Windows implementation for Unix has reached a new milestone with their 1.0 RC4 release. This brings them even closer to the anticipated 1.0 release sometime this year.

    My response to you is: DX9 is pretty close, a lot of work has gone into it. The remaining issues we have seem to be with certain drivers.

    At least the guy who maintains it for the Ubuntu repos has it installed, so I won't have to compile the final version.

  • GuyHersh, on 06/07/2008, -2/+5I take it as they implemented as many features as they want to for 1.0, and then reaching 1.0 means the squashed all the bugs that have been reported. Their hope is that there will be as few program incompatibilties as possible, but nearly every program that is popular works. Everything else should be ran natively when a linux based app.
