Will It Blend? Novell Brainshare Edition
reverendted.wordpress.com — Great "Will it Blend" video featuring the real will-it-blend guy, brought to us by Novell. I am at Novell's Brainshare conference right now, and this morning they showed this video during the keynote. It was terrific! Reverend Ted has the video, with some links for downloading it, and a bonus hi-res image of the blended product. Fun!

- EvilGnomeAndy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+52The sight of Tom Dickson warms my heart. Does he look a little pudgier than usual?
- bestadvocate, on 10/12/2007, -4/+33The sight of that Microsoft loving Novell products being blended warms my heart. Anyone else placing bets on them becoming the next SCO?
- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12> Anyone else placing bets on them becoming the next SCO?
While the malice isn't there, there /already/ have the same effect. They sold out and let the Trojan horse do damage from the inside (OOXML, Samba, IP threats, etc). - MrBabyMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+29Amazing that the "Will it Blend?" meme has become so popular that other companies are co-opting Tom for their own marketing! In any case, it's still great publicity for Blendtec.
- johnwyles, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Direct link to video (although the description and subsequent picture add to this): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVqtruQSHEM
- skEwb35, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Is that the correct pronunciation for SuSe?
- Arctirus, on 10/12/2007, -10/+21never mind, digg me down.
- mpphan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Looks like he's been using the blender to make himself some strawberry smoothies.
- digitalarcanum, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6dugg because Novell Netware is a bitch and a half to set up. I realize this edition of will it blend? has nothing to do with Netware, but it's Novell. I can't help but hate them for giving birth to that.. it's not even an atrocity it's a .... thing.
- solemnraven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13....and every IT dept turns out exactly like that, a pile of steamy green crap..
it was those damn end users...they ruin EVERYTHING! - cwshea, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18"Don't try this with actual end users... (they're heavy)"
- azurechaos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"Looks like he's been using the blender to make himself some strawberry smoothies."
If that's a reference to his weight- don't you mean milkshakes? Smoothies are healthy. - alexandreracine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6>"Don't try this with actual end users... (they're heavy)"
@cwshea
Actually, what he said was ever funnier!
"If you find yourself fantasizing about trowing end users in the blender, please get help. They're heavy." - starsky51, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1smoothies are full of sugar. drink enough of them and you will become a 192lb fatling.
- bfaulk04, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25My boss is there right now. No doubt, when he gets back, we will all get this forwarded to us. Pretty funny though.
- pwill, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1You track where your boss goes on your network?
Man, it would be awesome to be a sysadmin. - johnwyles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I can almost hear the geeky concert of laughter now
- pwill, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1You track where your boss goes on your network?
- Sharkee, on 10/12/2007, -7/+36I'm glad to see they have a sense of humor. I'm also glad to see them shred a Vista CD
- contradictator, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4There's an OSX joke in here somewhere, but frankly, i'm still queezy from seeing what came out of that blender.
- twtmc, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2am I the only one that realized that there are no vista cds?
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Actually Vista is available on CD.
Though if you have to use CD's to install it, you probably shouldn't be.
- DigitalJester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23So, the MS disks _will_ blend.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/12/2007, -8/+33Yes, evil blends!
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -18/+5I don't see the humor.
Why wouldn't it blend?
How does the fact Microsoft software is printed on the disc affect it?
I hate to be the person who looks to far into a joke, but in some cases the joke has no point. Whatsoever. And I think this is one of those cases. "In Soviet Russia, Microsoft windows you?" makes about the same amount of sense. - baalzebub, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2try putting them in a food processor...
crunch crunch crunch - that is where they belong...
- DietMountainDew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+109"If you feel you want to put your end users in a blender, please get help... They're heavy."
Dugg just for that.- Hayes, on 10/12/2007, -39/+2That wasn't funny at all. If anything it was forced and uninspired.
- FatPhil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+38LMAO ... i was cracking up when Tom said this joke. Funniest line i ever heard him say.
- thaeger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19""If you feel you want to put your end users in a blender, please get help......."
That was our original line in the script. Someone from Blendtec caught the double-entendre. We adapted the script. So, glad to hear the joke worked. - 8270369, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Not to pick nits, but the quote is actually: "If you find yourself fantasizing about throwing actual users into the blender, please get help... They're heavy."
- tpink, on 10/12/2007, -1/+60IT smoke, don't breathe this!
- BryanUT, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0I am so glad those bastids laid me off!
But since I am still holding on to a few shares, I am happy to see the stock price going up.
BTW, if you are at Brainshare and attend anything ZEN related, tell Ron and Ingo (from the Netherands and Zurich respectively) I said, "Hi!". They are 2 of the best guys at Novell, I think I still owe Ingo and Ron a dinner. - VhaidraU, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2"Will it blend?" jumps the shark.
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22That damn SuSE lizard made the whole mixture nasty as hell.
- Llanowar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17ROFL @ "They're heavy"
- aforsberg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0hehe... such fat end-users.
This is t3h best 1 of these ever!!!1!111!one!
- aforsberg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0hehe... such fat end-users.
- lupodwdm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14HAHAHAHA!! That's one of the best "Will it Blend?"s
"If you feel you want to put your end users in a blender, please get help............
They're heavy."
Great joke! I kinda felt that way today. - friend18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It looks like he has a tan, he probably got a raise from all the increased sales.
- slipdisc2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1but will it blend?
- systemghost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8That's great. Gotta love how marketing is changing so drastically.
- protogenxl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1But Will It BASH?
- Metaridley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I want to see Blentec make a giant-sized blender, then see Tom throw in a Wii, 360, and a PS3.
Thus ending all fanboy fights once and for all. - nhdw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Best W.I.B. by far :) Would digg twice if possible.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2That's what multiple digg accounts are for! :D
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2In Soviet Union, SUSE Linux Enterprise blends you!
(Sorry, it had to be said -- for the old-time diggers. You newbies have no idea!)- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1You mean of course old time slashdotters, you digg newbies have no sense of your internet meme heritage ( maybe some will even remember that Yakov Smirnoff is the one who started it all )
- aximbigfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4omg!!!! they blended the suse linux lizard! you bastards!!!!!!
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Actually the "in soviet russia joke" died on digg quite some time ago.
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Sorry digg broke on me, this comment was intended for another thread. Bury.
- nicepants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"If you're thinking about putting your end users into a blender, get help.......they're heavy."

- Sicarul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here it is: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8NeR2LyILWQ
- jqshen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Maybe one day he should try putting a blender in his blender and see if it blends.
- marthabrow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg that. Host is down.
