- anchora, on 07/24/2008, -3/+25Only for Spanish? Sounds like a neat app, but I'd have no use for it until it adds support for other languages. (Learning French and Japanese.)
- cdtoad, on 07/24/2008, -1/+14What ever happened to working at work?
- smylie, on 07/23/2008, -3/+14Very cool stuff . . . if you already have a smattering of spanish.
What would be more useful (to me) would be if it also worked in reverse - when ever you select/high light an english word, it looks up the spanish equivilant. This would help make a sort of learning by osmosis experience.
That said - I'll definitely be downloading it and giving it a burl. - Damovisa, on 07/24/2008, -0/+9Only in Spanish?!
[insert racist comment here]
/ In my naivety, I really didn't expect all the racist comments... - inactive, on 07/24/2008, -4/+12Amigo will not only help with your Spanish but is said to increase your work ethic and labor skills as well.
- Davinator, on 07/24/2008, -1/+8If only Gob had this for that damn Hermano cheating bastard.
- inactive, on 07/24/2008, -2/+8no but it comes with failito
- CrimsonFlash, on 07/24/2008, -2/+8Heh. Funny, I just started learning German last week. If only this was in more than one language.
- quez, on 07/24/2008, -0/+6Yes, that's obvious.
I'm such a dick. - uracre, on 07/24/2008, -1/+7Easy John Wayne... Nobody opened the borders, it is just learning a foreign language.
- Damovisa, on 07/24/2008, -1/+6Geez, what about just wanting to learn spanish so you can travel? Or maybe just pick up a new skill?
Learning another language doesn't have to mean you're anti-American... - HamNCheese, on 07/24/2008, -1/+6Perhaps German? Or maybe just learn *****...
- Ellipsys, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5This is a nice little program - I'd love to see it ported to other OSes! To everyone making some sort of snide remark, this is simply an unobtrusive way to learn a little bit of vocabulary, and could conceivably work for any language not just Spanish
- mushoo, on 07/24/2008, -1/+6So I take it all you're good for is bitching. Don't worry, you don't need to learn another language for that. Just keep spouting your xenophobia in whatever limited way suits you, meanwhile the people you're trying to disparage with your flippant repartee will be busy trying to better their lives.
- eengineer, on 07/24/2008, -0/+4Hey, Im not your amigo, buddy.
- yorian, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3O my God, do these people still exist?
- TehShogun, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3People who don't use linux can use this firefox addon (though you'll have to get a firefox addons account): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/553 ...
- doubleo7, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2I'm not your hombre, amigo.

- hpdarkman525, on 07/24/2008, -2/+4https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/247 ...
Incredibly useful if you want to learn some Japanese. - Culyt, on 07/24/2008, -1/+3I'm having tachos tonight, suck it Digg!
- HamNCheese, on 07/24/2008, -1/+3Obviously he's never been to L.A. ...or New York. ...or D.C. ...or Chicago. ...or anywhere else outside of "White America" for that matter.
Have fun at Wal Mart. - Ademan, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2tachos sound awesome, some sort of cross-breeding experiment between nachos and tacos gone horribly awry/delicious.
- kaosethema, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1y'all got sum cpomuter program for lurning dem der spanish? us rednecks need some us learning two
- PhailQuail, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Porting? don't you mean cross-platform compatibility. There is a substantial difference.
- xenocoder, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1I'll have to wait for Steve Windows' version for OSX, or Jim Linux's version for Windows before I can try it out.
- Megatog615, on 07/24/2008, -2/+3English *IS* the official language of the USA. The one and only.
The problem is, many people are trying to be too politically correct and commonly provide needless Spanish translations for English broadcasts, telephone menus, etc, solely because they believe they could make more money talking to the people who refuse to learn the official language of the USA.
I work in a computer store and the amount of clearly illegal immigrants shopping there is appalling. I have nothing against Mexicans, but I will try as hard as I can to work with them as long as they try as hard as they can to speak the official language.
If you think about it, it could even be considered a matter of public safety, because of poor communication. - Atomic1fire, on 07/24/2008, -2/+2yo quiero taco bell?
- PhailQuail, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1This would be of a lot more interest if it supported other languages, its like perapera-kun for GNOME.
- Megatog615, on 07/24/2008, -5/+5I couldn't agree more, but it doesn't hurt to learn an extra language.
I wanted to learn German just for fun back in school. - PhailQuail, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1I would of posted a more (less) witty comment here if I wasn't to lazy to google for a Spanish thesaurus.
- kukka, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0try babylon...
- PueSi, on 07/24/2008, -6/+5Solo vine aqui a presumir que hablo español.
- Atomic1fire, on 07/24/2008, -4/+2I half agree
English should be the official language
but freedom of speech says that you should be able to say what you want, meaning that for communication I think english should be used but if as a hobby or for family time Spanish (or whatever language rocks your boat) should be fine - Genecalypse, on 07/24/2008, -15/+13does it come with a burrito
- ennio, on 07/24/2008, -2/+0yo tambien buey!
- pyronik, on 07/24/2008, -4/+2il n'est pas facile pour moi a parle francais!
- ThantiK, on 07/24/2008, -6/+3I very enthusiastically agree.
- carter1337, on 07/24/2008, -7/+4The topic title is misleading--I thought it was about Mexicans learning English while cutting lawns or something.
- Appleologist, on 07/24/2008, -10/+4¡Me encanta español! I'm addicted to it – I even think in Spanish now…
- WhereAmI, on 07/24/2008, -13/+5I bet someone learning Spanish might have a use for it.
- ThantiK, on 07/24/2008, -16/+7No thanks. If it were something other than spanish I might be willing to give it a try. But I don't do roofing, farming, road work, clean toilets, live in a double-wide trailer, live off of welfare, swim across large bodies of water, or even like Miami, Florida.
- p51d007, on 07/24/2008, -14/+4If you want to learn spanish, go to Spain or Mexico. In the USA, we have room for ONE flag, the American flag, and ONE language, ENGLISH.
- iBeej, on 07/23/2008, -15/+3Learn-o, little-o language-o while-o you-o work-o.... um. AMIGO! ...... I learned something today.
