First and foremost the cost to upgrade to Vista at the large corporate and government level will force IT managers to consider any alternative to Vista and Office 07. When comparing apples to apples the alternative will win some serious deals.
Secondly, and probably more important in the long run, the hesitancy of OEMs to preinstall anything other than Microsoft will shed more and more light on the stranglehold MS seems to have on OEMs.
