- RichardBronosky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just want a phone that I can mount as a UMS (Universal Mass Storage) device and copy files to/from freely. I want to be able to edit configuration and data files that exist in a well documented standard in order to make the device behave the way my needs dictate. Is this so hard? I hope this is that device.
I have seen bashpodder and it is the future. I have tried countless phone/pda syncing methods, of which iSync on the Mac is the best. But, what I was able to accomplish by customizing bashpodder far surpasses anything on the market. AND ITS ONLY 40 LINES OF SHELL SCRIPT. Now if only I could extend that from podcasts syncing to contact and addressbook syncing.
My bashpodder hack wouldn't be right for everybody, but it is 100% perfectly flawless for me. I have never experienced closed source perfection. This is why open source is so powerful.
