- schestowitz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Good for the developers and well done. Not so long ago, SJVN talked about an executive exodus and Carmony left the company as well.
So... what have we here? Microsoft pays about $20 to Linspire... it then gets Carmoney to go out there and throw mud in the face of other (/REAL/) Linux companies ("high-brow pirates" and all that), it claims that another company now supports OOXML and pays for interop -- whatever that is. Then, it backstabs Linspire and uses that to FUD the GPLv3. At the end of the day... Microsoft gets all of this for a mere $20 million. It takes Microsoft minutes to make that sum. Saving the best for last... Linspire is as alive as SCO...
Corrupt, abusive, manipulative monopoly abuser. And Linspire could and should have seen what happens when you liaise with Friendly Neighborhood Lord (Neelie had something to say about this yesterday). The question remains, how much money did Carmony get paid to destory the company? Any more than Ron Hovsepian (still in doubt)?- kretik, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1God you are so annoying
- avram2002, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3And here is an INTENSE hope that the contamination from Lindows does not infect Canonical with the "proprietary codecs experience" and CNR affliction.
- Waterrat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3 Proprietary codecs are ok by me..It's just the MICROSOFT "proprietary codecs
that I want to avoid.
I used to use Linspire and will only use Freespire till Klikit goes beta...
Being one of many who felt like I was stabbed in the back by the 'spire and left outside as Microsoft vulture food, I'm not the least bit dismayed...
In fact,I got a good chuckle out of this...It just gets better and better...
This company just continues making one mistake after another and shooting themselves in the foot....They have driven many of their long time users to other distros, have shafted the Insiders, insulted the entire Linux community and after using the Insiders to help with Linspire, they slap the whole lot of them in the face by
hopping on the Microsoft bandwagon...And one wonders why staffers are leaving?
It does not take rocket science to figure that one out.
