- trghpy, on 10/28/2007, -2/+90What is Ubuntu Satanic Edition?
Ubuntu SE is not currently a distro, it’s more a series of themes to transform the look of Ubuntu. You must first download and install one of the standard Ubuntu variants and then upgrade to Ubuntu SE. Don’t worry; you can easily change your system back if you intend to recant. - LowenSoDium, on 10/28/2007, -4/+87I thought that all Linux distros were Satanic... You know, with all of those daemons.
- bloodrave, on 10/28/2007, -5/+74"Why yes, Satan lives in my synaptic package manager!"
- ers35, on 10/28/2007, -7/+75"Ubuntu Satanic Edition can be installed over any Ubuntu Edgy variant. We suggest Ubuntu Christian Edition, but the standard Ubuntu will do fine. Just download from here:"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -33/+79This is a great alternative to Ubuntu False Prophet Edition, I mean Ubuntu Christian Edition.
- Fordi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+45The atheist edition already exists. It's called 'Ubuntu'.
- mrcdan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46this'll be cool with the beryl flame effects...
- itisme, on 10/28/2007, -2/+39badumm bummm and tshhhhhh
- sneed, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37"Why not release an add-on pack of some sort?"
That's what they did. - damentz, on 10/12/2007, -8/+42I think its actually pretty funny, it puts a balance to the pointless christian edition. Though it does have uses, take this on a laptop to a church and see what happens when you show it off. Instant anger, much like instant tea, only more pain.
Besides that, white text on a dark background is much easier on my eyes. - Ricapar, on 10/28/2007, -0/+23They should have at least provided the non-free drivers and codecs and a few programs here and there. If it's going to be a "Satanic" edition, providing those shouldn't be any problem.
- tomarocco, on 10/28/2007, -1/+22Mubuntu....the muslim edition. Do anything unorthodox and it deletes your login account and home directory.
- wtfhacksDan, on 10/28/2007, -2/+21"Do the police know about these devil computers?"
- sgen, on 10/28/2007, -7/+26Hope its more stable than the Xtian edition which hangs painfully for a while, dies, and then -- allegedly -- comes back to life three days later.
- Fordi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17What, GCC isn't a satanic tool enough for you?
if (et_vivus==mortuus) et_ecce->sum_vivens(in_saecula);
saeculorum->et_habeo("claves mortis et inferni"); - lassel, on 10/28/2007, -6/+21Ubuntu really needs a good place where the community can upload (and rate and download) themes. Not just a website, but integrated into the theme-picker.
Fideling with repositories just to get a theme isn't worth it.
Looks pretty hot with all the flames though. - mabhatter, on 10/28/2007, -0/+15@ozroy
most geeks already have naked women on their desktop.. a Wiccan Ubuntu would be redundant.
Unless we could get our girlfriends to try it!!! - inactive, on 10/28/2007, -2/+17..... at least they didn't give it a trendy name like Satanbuntu.
- nandasunu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14most likely would be a gimp tutorial, not ps (this is linux after all..)
- nipuL, on 10/28/2007, -0/+13I want Buddhuntu!!!
(tick, tick, tick) - ISVDamocles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12@lassel, neko: There is a program that integrates gnome-look.org into a menu in your System->Preferences section.
Fire up the Synaptic Package Manager, then go to Settings->Repositories, and make sure universe ("Community maintained Open Source Software (universe)") is enabled, then click OK, then the Reload button.
Now click Search and type in "gnome-art". You should see the package there, click it, it'll inform you of other dependencies to be installed, then click Apply.
Once its done installing, click on System->Preferences->Art Manager
Click the Art menu and choose the type of artwork you want to download and install.
Be warned that the program is written in Ruby, so the interface is a bit sluggish, but it's not like you'll be using this program every day. - benplaut, on 10/28/2007, -1/+11ubuntifer?
- alexkrycek, on 10/28/2007, -0/+9I liked the idea, but I thought the execution was pretty weak. Just some flames and pictures of glaciers.
- bruenig, on 10/28/2007, -0/+9He really should have gone with Ubuntu Flying Spaghetti Monster Edition.
- yish, on 10/28/2007, -2/+11http://jewbuntu.wordpress.com/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13I'm a Christian and I use the regular Ubuntu :-( Not all computer geeks are atheists, and not all Christians are crazy judgmental right-wing maniacs. A part of me wants to put this on my computer though, just for laughs...
- krizhere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8http://parker1.co.uk/satanic/screenshots/
...those are some pretty nice graphics I must say. I really like the color selection. - ozroy, on 10/28/2007, -9/+17This is cool, but I'm wiccan, are there any distros that reflect my beliefs? Maybe something with women dancing naked in the moonlight.
- inactive, on 10/28/2007, -1/+7There's an Ubuntu Christian Edition? I just checked. There is. How amusing.
- doctorcaligari, on 10/28/2007, -0/+6Come on, people! we need 666 diggs!
- dreamlayers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Picasa Web Albums is a Google service. The domain is picasaweb.google.com. If you're logged in at Google then Picasa Web Albums also sees the relevant cookies and knows who you are.
- RobDeBob, on 10/28/2007, -0/+6Just in time for the antichrist!
- jasonwc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Several people made the same comment on the author's website, and he had a positive response to the request/criticism. You should expect an unbranded version of the login splash screen shortly.
- mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5really, I was expecting to see pitchforks and hardcore porn... Links to all kinds of illegal drugs the cops can't announce... and of course to top it off... LOTS of illegal downloaded music and movies. Maybe some cracked versions of pay-for software.
this is lame... they're the "Hot Topic" wannabe of the Ubuntu scene. - Azrael666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5They should include SATAN - Security Administrator's Tool for Analyzing Networks
- mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6There won't be... you will never get Linux to run without help from the Computer Gods!!!
- regeya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Kubuntu was a good idea. Ubuntu's awesome, but if you think that GNOME sucks nuts (I do) it might be nice to not have to install GNOME first or do a 'server' install just to be able to install KDE.
Why is choice bad? If choice is bad, why not petition the GNOME and BSD communities to stop, and petition Apple and other non-PC computer companies to shut down? And why not petition to allow Microsoft to have a total monopoly on PC *production*? Choice is BAD! - fiver22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I wish someone would have just made an "Ubuntu Atheist" version -but this'll have to do, I guess.
- drakethegreat, on 10/28/2007, -6/+10BAZINNNNGG
- mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What about a new version that has a more "Intelligent Design" that we've all waited for?
I'd like to see the FSM version... Pasafairians need to stand up and be represented. I want an Ubuntu touched by his noodly appendage!!!! - mushoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I guess this will do seeing how apple was too ***** to accept endorsement from the CoS.
Thus we have.

- neko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@lassel: I find gnome-look.org works great, even though it's not integrated into a dialog box somewhere.
- justice7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you all remember this from DOOM ...
initializing daemon....
you know you read it as Demon. You KNOW you did. - drakethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Gotta love that one image where it looks like they took a picture of a peak of some volcano and then applied a red filter to it.
- Koppie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you gaze long enough into the distro, eventually the distro gazes back at you.
- inferno10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2YES!!! Now I have something to keep away all these Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons.
- Fjinks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I couldn't resist installing it.
Though Windows Vista is way more satanic! - farrellj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ozroy: There are many Wiccan and Pagan things in the standard Linux distro, any distro! I could tell you, but then I would have to initiate you into the Illuminati...unfortunately, our membership roster is full until the turn of the next century...so I can't tell. Sorry!
Hail Eris!
