Ubuntu Brainstorm Launched!
fridge.ubuntu.com — Ubuntu now has its own Brainstorm website where people can add their ideas and vote for their favorites.
- 1887 diggs
- digg it
- Vinvin, on 02/28/2008, -5/+29Sounds very cool :)
- gfxmethod, on 02/28/2008, -2/+5Is very cool ;)
- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -11/+50While its a great idea, I am not sure it will really work. If we take Digg as an example then we can expect the top results to consist of
1/ Ubuntu needs a feature to help Ron Paul become President
2/ Ubuntu needs to work somehow relate to the iPhone
3/ Ubuntu needs more LOLcats
4/ Ubuntu needs more top 5 lists
5/ Ubuntu needs more features that show how dumb the US government is
6/ OMG like you know Ubuntu needs to ***** THE RIAA- Protoss, on 02/28/2008, -0/+7I'm sure the list will be moderated somewhat.
- theaceoffire, on 02/28/2008, -0/+10For every rabid Ron Paul fan you will find at least one Anti-Fan.
That should keep some of the more silly things out I think. - Vinvin, on 02/28/2008, -0/+16I often find the Ubuntu community (in general) to be a bit more moderate than the Digg community ;)
- solarwind24, on 02/28/2008, -1/+11You're wrong. Digg me down for this, but in the end, you know it's true: the average Linux user is more intelligent than the average digg user.
- brad3378, on 02/29/2008, -0/+3so true
- quomen, on 02/28/2008, -17/+4It's awesome, but not started by the Ubuntu community. Dell has been doing this for a while:
http://www.dellideastorm.com/- synapseattack, on 02/28/2008, -2/+30Really?! I didn't know that... oh wait yes I did because I read the ***** article. My mistake.
- ligyron, on 02/28/2008, -1/+7Well said
- quomen, on 02/28/2008, -2/+1ROFL. Sucks.
- tastethevenom, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1Ah, they could have used FeVote ( http://www.fevote.com/ ), but it's cool that they brewed their own feature voting service.
- piratehead, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1They used Drupal with some additional modules.
- synapseattack, on 02/28/2008, -2/+30Really?! I didn't know that... oh wait yes I did because I read the ***** article. My mistake.
- melaren, on 02/28/2008, -0/+89I thought this day would never come. I think this type of system could help open-source projects be truly innovative. By now the Ubuntu project has a large fan-base who I think would love to contribute to the project. ...but most people who use Ubuntu aren't skilled programmers who can contribute code. Before now, there was no easy way to contribute. You could post an idea on the Ubuntu Forums, but even if your idea was well received, it would most likely disappear after a few weeks into archived history, without a single developer knowing about it.
Traditional companies have a small number of people making decisions that will influence millions. Open-source really needs to leverage the potential that it has. Let's get this on the Digg front page, let's contribute our ideas (or voting power).- rpgmaker, on 02/28/2008, -2/+3I thought that Ubuntu blueprints was meant to do what ubuntu brainstorm is meant to.
- mmmiiikkkeee, on 02/28/2008, -0/+5I think they are going to link them together and use both... but yes; this kind of thing is what the blue prints does too.. I like this better since I can vote on the things i like best... kinda like digg
- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1 I hope Debian does this as well.
- mmmiiikkkeee, on 02/28/2008, -0/+5I think they are going to link them together and use both... but yes; this kind of thing is what the blue prints does too.. I like this better since I can vote on the things i like best... kinda like digg
- bliz, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Perhaps you could digg the ideas so the good ideas won't disappear into the abyss..
- rpgmaker, on 02/28/2008, -2/+3I thought that Ubuntu blueprints was meant to do what ubuntu brainstorm is meant to.
- Aeuta, on 02/28/2008, -5/+81OMG! This is really putting the Open into OpenSource
- ptFoe, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6Hopefully they will listen to them
unlike the multiple wallpapers option for gnome- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -1/+2You mean more than one wallpaper at a time? like different ones on different monitors or on different sides of the cube? If you do then its not an Ubuntu problem, its an Xorg problem. You need to take it up with them.
- brettalton, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1I think he means including more than 1 or 2 wallpapers by default. Mac OS X, XP and Vista all include a larger selection of wallpapers I believe.
- flatlinebb, on 02/29/2008, -2/+2Glad to see you are using the wealth of available wallpapers to judge the relative merits of an operating system.
- Tenoq, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2Time to suggest a free DeviantArt package. That'd be an easy way to add wallpapers, without fluffing up the install for everyone else.
- ptFoe, on 02/29/2008, -0/+3oops sorry I meant different wallpapers for different workspaces
- UtahApocalyse, on 02/28/2008, -2/+2I will now call this "SocialSource" or CommunitySource"
- tomee, on 02/28/2008, -0/+5I call it Open Development, because that is really at least as important as simply the source being visible.
- webcrumb, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1How about "Shared Source" ? That sounds really open.
- kcap122, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1How about "Web 3.0"?
- Amiga500, on 02/29/2008, -2/+0Too many cooks spoil the broth.
- ptFoe, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6Hopefully they will listen to them
- pickture, on 02/28/2008, -1/+50A hundred million heads are better than one!
- ObeseEurotrash, on 02/28/2008, -7/+0try 4
- sarixe, on 02/28/2008, -1/+2that's what they're trying to avoid
- dualscreenman, on 02/28/2008, -0/+5You mean 4 hundred million? That would be better!
- Malachai, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3Well, erm...yes. A hundred million heads are better than four.
- nailer, on 02/29/2008, -0/+110 million-ish, actually. But yes, still great.
- Lewie, on 02/29/2008, -1/+2that's OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!!!!!1
- ObeseEurotrash, on 02/28/2008, -7/+0try 4
- Portachking, on 02/28/2008, -1/+28This is such a great idea. Talk about giving the community a platform to speak from.
- scamper22, on 02/28/2008, -5/+4yeah just like digg :)
I'm sure all discussion and ratings will be civil and productive
//sarcasm - MrViklund, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1Yea. They really have no ideas left themselves. except more BROUUUUUUUUUUUN!
- scamper22, on 02/28/2008, -5/+4yeah just like digg :)
- adila01, on 02/28/2008, -0/+11The submitted ideas are great. Hopefully this way the developers will truly know what is best for the Ubuntu users.
- depro9, on 02/28/2008, -6/+7YES YES YES YES!!!!!!1111
- crazzybob546, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1you mean yessssssssssssssss
- BabySlapper, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1Maybe depro9 means, "...seven."
- crazzybob546, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1you mean yessssssssssssssss
- basic0, on 02/28/2008, -4/+120Dear Ubuntu,
Please convince the militant dickweeds who maintain gnome-screensaver to add the ability to change the settings on each screensaver. We know the settings are there, we can get at them with other DEs. Stop pretending there's no middle ground of users between "Extra buttons on my screen scare and confuse me" and "Oh cool, I'll just edit the config file in vi".
Sincerely,
All the people who have been bitching about this problem for the last 4 years, and have got nothing but attitude from the developer(s).

- missingnoh4x, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4I'm moving to KDE once 8.04 comes out. I hate gnome-screensaver with a passion, and I've had to go back to xscreensaver.
- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3try the one that comes with compiz. I don't know if its in the main release yet, but if you can compile it yourself then its pretty dam good.
- gavintlgold, on 02/28/2008, -0/+9The main reason they did it was because it's 'confusing.' But I don't see anything confusing for a simple "Advanced Options" or "Configure" button in there. People won't use it if they get confused. That's not a problem. It's really very annoying that they removed it. What if you wanted something besides the name of your desktop and the time to go bouncing around... what if you wanted to change the speed... It makes people who are new to open source think that the software is sub-par to windows which has all those options. It annoys me very much.
- basic0, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4Mac OS X lets you customize certain screensavers too. I'm not a holier-than-thou design guru involved in GNOME development, so maybe I'm out of my element, but I think most people who don't want advanced options would just ignore that button if it existed, much like they do on Windows and Mac OS.
The GNOME project is one of the biggest offenders in one of my pet peeves: holding Linux to a ludicrously higher usability standard than it's competition. It's not enough to have, say, a Firefox icon that looks exactly as it does on Windows and Mac; no, it has to be 128x128 pixels, be labeled "Browse websites", and be launched by mental telepathy.
Linus Torvalds himself has railed on GNOME numerous times for doing this sort of thing; assuming EVERY user is an idiot and nobody will ever want to access any advanced settings. The juvenile response from the GNOME camp was essentially to call Linus a nazi and tell him to fix it himself if he thinks it's so bad.
- basic0, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4Mac OS X lets you customize certain screensavers too. - ja4444, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2I solved Gnome's "you're too stupid to handle these options" treatment by switching to KDE, where I can have access to every option imaginable, for only a modest sacrifice in speed.
- bruce89, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1Patches are welcome.
- basic0, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1They're not, that's the problem. The gnome-screensaver maintainer doesn't even want to hear about it.
- Remmy, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2How is Ubuntu or more over Canonical responsible for the Gnome Project?
- yetAnotherCroc, on 03/01/2008, -1/+2They are not, but Ubuntu is more or less singlehandedly keeping Gnome in the race against KDE so they have a lot of influence. (According to recent statistics I saw somwhere ubuntu makes up about 75% of gnomes install base. Not 100% sure about that one myself though so dont quote me.)
- BigManOnCampus, on 02/28/2008, -1/+14Am I the only one who get's a blank page at brainstorm.ubuntu.com ?
- henrikomma, on 02/28/2008, -1/+2Are you using IE? If so it's probably this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-qa-website/ ... Should be fixed soon.
- BigManOnCampus, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4No, Firefox 2.0.12
- sketec, on 02/28/2008, -1/+7Site must be down now. I'm getting timeouts on a 40Mbps connection.
- DarkDx, on 02/28/2008, -1/+3I also get this problem with Safari (webkit) in mac os x 10.5.2
- tdreyer1, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4Brainstorm seems to be down right now (firefox 3pm 2/28/08)
:( - skyhook19, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2I think the site is getting hammered...

- Dropperbr, on 02/28/2008, -13/+52Lets vote for no more brown themes!!!!
- zip000, on 02/28/2008, -5/+13I really like the brown themes!
- brettalton, on 02/28/2008, -0/+9The 'Human' theme across Ubuntu has been orange since 6.06 Dapper, almost 2 years ago. Last I remember, only the wallpaper has been brown.
- abbathdoom, on 02/29/2008, -2/+1I started a new suggestion about changing the colours and making Ubuntu not look gross and its just being voted down by colour blind Linux users.
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/290/ - linuxpenguin, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Um, it's orange.
- drcreek, on 02/28/2008, -9/+4RUN! IT WILL KILL US ALL!.
- dhaus111, on 02/28/2008, -2/+3seems like they also are introducing the new area for people coming from digg, "the fridge"
- sirdaz, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6The Fridge has been a there a while now I think
- priegog, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6Oh man you really gottalook through your funny filter from time to time
- sirdaz, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6The Fridge has been a there a while now I think
- EnigmaStrain, on 02/28/2008, -3/+24lol the site is already broken, man we digg users do some heavy damage
- diggrim, on 02/28/2008, -0/+5it's also on slashdot
- Seantacular, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1i like your grammar.
- sirhomer, on 02/28/2008, -2/+2Cool website, but it's funny that some of the most popular ideas are currently being worked on already (like a better bootloader, or improved network manager, or upstart event scripts) before this website existed.
- mmmiiikkkeee, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2hopefully this could give some direction of which cool ideas to focus there work onto...
- Planets, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2A better bootloader is being worked on?
- sirhomer, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1Yes, Grub2 is planned for inclusion in about a year, likely two releases from Heron.
- skyhook19, on 02/28/2008, -2/+1That's a long long way away
- sirhomer, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1Yes, Grub2 is planned for inclusion in about a year, likely two releases from Heron.
- neorser, on 02/28/2008, -3/+4A Digg for Ubuntu ideas ;)
- Protoss, on 02/28/2008, -1/+7Is it me, or is the site a bit sluggish?
- brettalton, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Yeah, that's embarrassing.
- bruenig, on 02/28/2008, -9/+31. Rolling release.
2. Better package management. (something at least as good as pacman on arch).- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+7Rolling release sucks monkey nuts. The 6 month release and 2 year LTS is the perfect way to go. You don't have to wait very long for updates and Ubuntu gets a whole bunch of hype every 6 months.
- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4 What's wrong with the current package manager?
- Culyt, on 02/29/2008, -0/+0There is a rolling release, it basically the alpha version of the next release, or Debian testing/unstable.
- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+7Rolling release sucks monkey nuts. The 6 month release and 2 year LTS is the perfect way to go. You don't have to wait very long for updates and Ubuntu gets a whole bunch of hype every 6 months.
- ChrisF79, on 02/28/2008, -4/+39Dugg because "ubuntu" is in the headline and that's what I'm supposed to do.
- kidcodea, on 02/28/2008, -5/+1sheeple...mediocrity attached not even forza can detach.
- halobender, on 02/28/2008, -7/+2baaaaa
- Ninjao, on 02/28/2008, -1/+14This is the sort of thing that will drive Ubuntu to new hights.
- ChrisF79, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6Is spell check within forms on the list?
- jm4847, on 02/28/2008, -25/+2Here's one: make it as easy to install software and configure the OS as in Windows.
- quarando, on 02/28/2008, -1/+11I would argue that software installation is easier in ubuntu. It is different from Windows, however, so people feel like its more difficult. System configuration is more of a mixed bag.
- UtahApocalyse, on 02/28/2008, -3/+6I found it 10x quicker and easier then Window. There were maybe 5 questions, and then a 10 min install
- klco, on 02/28/2008, -0/+12done... a loooong time ago. Seriously its a breeze to install stuff using the default package manager, sometimes the hardest part is picking which free piece of software to use.
- Eibx, on 02/28/2008, -5/+13I'm becoming closer and closer to switch from Windows to Ubuntu.
One of the things that's stopping me is the fact that I'm programming C# and I use Visual Studio, and it's not compatible with other than Windows systems.
Actually that should be reason enough to switch.- quarando, on 02/28/2008, -1/+12Have you tried Mono for C# development?
- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1Duel boot.
- flatlinebb, on 02/29/2008, -0/+4"Duel boot"? Is that the idea of having the OS's fight each other with pistols at dawn, after which the last one standing gets to actually start up? Sorry, not trying to be a grammar Nazi - I just found the idea funny and wanted to share.
- Ansible, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2No, its a special boot for dueling. Thank god we live in a civilized era where we don't have to resort to the savage duel boots.
- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1Duel boot.
- GfunkGbuss, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4I just made the switch by running XP through Virtualbox in seamless mode, and I absolutely LOVE it.
- Weejay, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3MonoDevelop might not be AS good as VS, but it's getting pretty solid man, you should check it out.
http://www.monodevelop.com/Main_Page - Culyt, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1Personally I find it better to program without IDE's. Just edit the files in whatever editor you like and type the compile command. gedit, vi, emacs (shudder), whatever. Your not limited to using the built in one.
GUI design might be a bit more work but you will actually know what your doing rather than just leaving it up to some crappy interface designer which will make a bunch of metadata and give you horrible names like button1_variable20b_integer_sizex or whatever. You will also have more control for things like custom widgets.- DestroyFascism, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2Oh man, I need spell check and so on....For that I need and IDE.
Programming on text or the like is great if you want to proof a concept or code line quickly but an IDE is faster by light years. To add to that, most programmers that I know always have distractions, particularly if you have an office working near to or around you, the concentration levels drop so an IDE picks up the static jumble that races through my head at least....
- DestroyFascism, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2Oh man, I need spell check and so on....For that I need and IDE.
- quarando, on 02/28/2008, -1/+12Have you tried Mono for C# development?
- neil1492, on 02/28/2008, -8/+2The site is very very slow.
- Amiga500, on 02/29/2008, -3/+1It's running on Ubuntu.
- ConquistadorFor, on 02/28/2008, -7/+4i might blend in some of my ideas with ubuntu lol
i been working years for my version of linux..
gotta check out some ideas there lol and add to mine..- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4Whats yours? Is it ready for apha release? get a torrent up and let people know about it. You will get at least a few people download it and offer bug reports etc.
- nurall, on 02/28/2008, -6/+7how about wifi working out of the box.
i still cant get it to work on my install. (ok it is a 10 yr old dell laptop with a pcmcia wifi card)- mmmiiikkkeee, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4yea... i think you should post the problem on launchpad as a bug. this site is for new features to implemented. they are really not the same thing(I know it confuses me too at times).
- JohnnyKdiggs, on 02/28/2008, -0/+11This is absolutely fantastic. Ubuntu users have been calling for this for some time now:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IdeaPool#head-bda1dd9fdd2f ...

It's great to know that a company, for once, actually cares what its customers have to say.- Olegovich, on 02/28/2008, -20/+1stfu homo
- stgraber, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6The website might be a bit slow at the moment as we are on digg and wired frontpages :)
We have contacted the system administrators in charge of the server and are working on a solution.- osoroco, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1site's down for me
- marine63, on 02/28/2008, -1/+0yeah.. can't finish registering b/c of it :(
- Kasot, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1We noticed :)
- brettalton, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1How did you contact the system administrator?
- webspot, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3Perhaps the "we" in stgraber's message implied that they are someone behind the site.
- stgraber, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1The "we" in my sentence is for the Ubuntu QA website development team which I'm one of the two members.
As far as I know, Canonical's sysadmins are still working on making the website responsive. - flatlinebb, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Have they tried to reboot their computer?
- stgraber, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1The "we" in my sentence is for the Ubuntu QA website development team which I'm one of the two members.
- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+5999, When they ask Fire, Police or Ambulance, say "Its more important than that, I need Ubuntu"
- webspot, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3Perhaps the "we" in stgraber's message implied that they are someone behind the site.
- trisweb, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Slashdot too! Jesus. Can't expect any site to handle that kind of surge.
Just keep adding servers and load-balance nginx or ligttpd ;-)
- dougle, on 02/28/2008, -1/+2wow, These are all great ideas/request. wonder what the turn around will be like.
- mrkredo, on 02/28/2008, -15/+1buried as lame ,,l,,
- 1timeuser, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1Not as lame as ascii art... really bad ascii art.
- buuch, on 02/28/2008, -4/+2we busted it =/
- noself, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4As a lifelong windows user, yet an avid fan of open source tech, how do I get started with something like Ubuntu? Some of my more tech-savvy friends switched last year, and in the long run couldn't keep up with what I guess was a need to understand code language to run the system smoothly. Also, I'm not a heavy gamer but I do enjoy the occasional TF2 or Civ4 bout. What can Ubuntu do for me, the internet savy but computer science ignorant individual?
- pacsum, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6Ubuntu is very user friendly. I've been using Ubuntu since may last year and now I use the system as easy as windows. Of course the first months you will feel a little lost because is something new. When you have a doubt about how to do something on the system, Google it or go to their support forum www.ubuntuforums.org , all the answers are there. Throw yourself into the water. I also like to play games sometimes that's why I dual boot (WinXp and Ubuntu).
Now I don't even remember what's a virus, spyware or an antivirus. :)- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3 You don't have to understand code.
the only command line command I know is ping Google.
I run Klikit Linux, but one is as good as another..I never met a distro I didn't like..And if one does not work for you,try another.
http://www.whylinuxisbetter.net/
- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3 You don't have to understand code.
- Kasot, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4It's actually quite straight forward. And Ubuntu has improved alot since last year :)
The new version is out in a few months, just download it and burn it on a CD. If you're hardware is mainstream you shouldn't have to do anything else than reading the instructions carefully. - brettalton, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4Download a liveCD, burn it and reboot. Then see what it can do for you without one of us nerds helping you, I guess...
http://releases.ubuntu.com/7.10/ubuntu-7.10-deskto ...- Waterrat, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3 You have to set your bios to boot from the cd for it to run any distro live. Running live will let you see how it looks and if it finds all your stuff (usually it will) before you install..
- farTart, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1http://andlinux.org - it's in late Beta, but it puts ubuntu under windows for you - so you can dip your toe in the water :)
- noself, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1Thanks to everyone for the helpful comments. I'm downloading a live CD now. :)

When you have a doubt about how to do something on the system, Google it or go to their support forum www.ubuntuforums.org , all the answers are there. Throw yourself into the water. I also like to play games sometimes that's why I dual boot (WinXp and Ubuntu).
- Zaggynl, on 02/28/2008, -4/+2Nice going digg, you just wtfpwned the site!
- dentarthurdent1, on 02/28/2008, -9/+5dear ubuntu: please make the wireless drivers you installed work properly and not drop my connection every 2 seconds
- missingnoh4x, on 02/28/2008, -2/+3Dear ubuntu: Get some more bandwidth for this new site.
- kazamx, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1It is a little strange. On release day they can keep the servers up (pretty much) even though thousands and thousands of people are downloading 700mb files from them. A little Digg and they crumble.
- trisweb, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1It's a different server with different demands for a newly launched sub-site. The download server has a completely different purpose and not to mention is mirrored in hundreds of locations.
- stgraber, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1The Ubuntu Brainstorm website doesn't run on the same kind of servers and is not even on the same network as the cdimage servers :)
The ubuntu cdimage servers serve static content not entirely dynamic like our website.
Sysadmins are on it but I don't have any idea when we can expect a page to load in less than 10minutes (when you are lucky).

- mk1gti, on 02/28/2008, -7/+1(like a better bootloader
I'll go for a booter beerloader. Press a certain key combination and an articulated arm comes out from behind your laptop, reaches into the fridge, pops the cap, pulls out a glass, tilts it at just the right angle and executes a perfect pour. . . I can hear the 'ffffsssssssshhhhhhh' now . . . . duffloader. . . . aaaaggggllllggglllllll - zwaldowski, on 02/28/2008, -0/+7This is great. The only place normal users (not Launchpad registrees) to talk is on the forums, and nobody listens to them (us, I guess) there.
- bruce89, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1What about Launchpad registrees? I don't want to have to register again.
- Weejay, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4Site is currently being Slashdotted AND Dugg AND Wired'd :(
Obviously it's getting slow-ish. - mmcgrath, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Still waiting for them to Open Source Launch Pad. Speaking of which, where can I get the source code for brainstorm.ubuntu.com while I'm at it?
- nandubuntu, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-qa-website-deve ... and https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-qa-website-deve ...
Here you are.
Want to give an hand? I accept help offers :)

- stgraber, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Website should be a lot faster now.
We have been moved to some other servers.- stgraber, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1Some problems with e-mail have been reported.
In case you don't get your activation mail, please use the "Request new password" feature of the login box.

- cptnspoon, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0Looks like it's down at the moment.
- abbathdoom, on 02/29/2008, -4/+2I started a new suggestion about changing the colours and making Ubuntu not look gross and its just being voted down by colour blind Linux users.
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/290/- JohnFlux, on 02/29/2008, -0/+0You come off as such a dick. If I had an account, I'd vote you down too, just for being dick.
- dralezero, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1Needs a
clear="all" or clear="left" somewhere. - AppleMacMan, on 02/29/2008, -9/+2Oh Wonderful! This will boost the Linux market share from 0.67% to 0.68%! Wooohooo!
- MrViklund, on 03/01/2008, -1/+1+1
- Amiga500, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0With sales this strong, soon we will feed ALL of Africa!
- theferno, on 02/29/2008, -3/+1here's an idea, play this video every time you boot: http://youtube.com/watch?v=0md6Flcrd0s
- nailer, on 02/29/2008, -1/+6My idea: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/384/

Good luck! - torressr3, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2All i want is the dual screen working properly.
- Mattie, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1If you want, you can create your own "brainstorm" for your own project, for free: http://featurelist.org
- Remmy, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Or you can just download the source code that they are using on brainstorm and skip using a third party.
- MethodOne, on 02/29/2008, -2/+3One bad thing about Ubuntu Brainstorm is a user named JoseGosdin is flooding the site with requests for a Ubuntu soundtrack, complaints about the site being broken, and a complaint about Ubuntu having no drive letters.
- MethodOne, on 03/01/2008, -1/+1Good thing the admins took care of the spammer the next day, and I don't have to see any posts about a user being called a fascist.
- Corrosionx, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1All I want is TV-Out (fullscreen video) to work exactly like on my Windows and Photoshop (please don't suggest Gimp)
- adila01, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1The newest version of Wine now supports Photoshop CS2. You should check it out! :D
- eklem, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1Or you could try Krita. It doesn't look as polished, but surpasses Photoshop in several areas by showing instead of telling you what to do. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krita
- snowblindnz, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1God please make right-click iso mounting a possibility.
