- oomfoofoo, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2It still won't be faster than the boot time of Arch Linux.

- wrek, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1I hope so... I also hope in getting the boot times lowered they fix the standby/sleep functions. I haven't managed to get those to work yet.. my own ignorance is to blame I'm sure, and the fact that I haven't spent more than 5 minutes tinkering with settings while trying to get it working.
Fast boot times will be terrific! People will stop leaving their PC's on all night long just so they don't have to wait for them to boot up in the morning. A lot of PC's die each year from being left on 24/7 in a home because of dust! Those cooling fans run air and dust through the power supply, cpu and video cards which have little cooling fins in them that trap dust until the air no longer circulates. This causes PC's to over-heat and motherboards/power supplies to fail. I think I'm off topic now but I just want to tell everyone to get a can of air-blaster or get a vacuum out and clean those PC's internals before they die of heat stroke.
Fast boot times! WOO HOO! Thanks Ubuntu...
