- ZPWeeks, on 08/05/2008, -0/+15The IBM ones are pretty cool... Ballsy. Did these get much/any airplay? How long ago?
With Gates gone the most recent quarterlies from MS show concerns about FOSS as a business threat, something like "IBM supports Linux 100%" has to strike fear into more than one pocketbook. - Armor1901, on 08/05/2008, -2/+17The hot Linux chick?
Yeah, I'd mount my drive with her file system all day long baby. - spydon, on 08/05/2008, -0/+10Yes, if you dont look at it ;).
- Daniel15, on 08/05/2008, -0/+9The article is actually titled "5 Linux Commercials I Like"... The submitter on Digg changed it to "Top 5 Linux Commercials"
- presidentjapan, on 08/05/2008, -0/+8First of all, how could that commercial not be on the list?
Second of all, how could they be burying you for posting that?! I would've done it if you hadn't already!
But here is the full version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwL0G9wK8j4 - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -2/+10I am developing an innovative OS called Xunil. Let me know if you want to try out the beta version.

*Caution: Archive is in popular linux format, created on linux, containing linux related materials. Download at your own risk. - rusty0101, on 08/05/2008, -1/+8I see you have reverse engineered the OS that I am using. Fortunately the license expressly permits that.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+6i was confused about the six links too. the two apple ad parodies counted as one in the article for some reason.
- mooninite, on 08/05/2008, -0/+6Holy crap its a gzipped tarball on rapid share. The sky is falling.
*downloads* - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+6Would that not be the equivalent of getting on her and falling a sleep? You have to include some fscking with that mounting if you want to get any where. ;-)
- dudefaceguyman, on 08/05/2008, -0/+5Whenever somebody makes a parody of those Mac/PC commercials...Part of me dies.
- MikeonTV, on 08/05/2008, -2/+7I'm missing wat?
- norman619, on 08/05/2008, -1/+6Worst? How so? To be honest Linux is a better OS than OSX hands down.
- Serphyas, on 08/05/2008, -2/+7No.
- Fergy, on 08/05/2008, -1/+5Nah I'm already trying Utnubu
- sysop073, on 08/05/2008, -1/+5Digg should just check for that comment and start it at -9000 diggs

- hermslice, on 08/05/2008, -0/+3Um... 2 years ago, linux commercial at the super bowl. thats when they first announced IBM was 100% behind linux.
Seahawks vs Steelers (rigged game) - MeatPlow, on 08/05/2008, -1/+4Dude...this is the 3rd article that you asked people to digg you down on in the last hour. WTF??
- melonhedd, on 08/05/2008, -0/+3I love the one with the Aryan kid (#5)
- kibbledbits, on 08/05/2008, -1/+4I'd like to see the Linux community come together (Canonical, IBM, RedHat, Novell, etc) and create a fund for evangelizing Linux then run a killer ad during the Superbowl.
- ozid, on 08/05/2008, -1/+4two scenarios for those commercials being played during the Super Bowl:
1) Nobody knows WTF the commercial was even about
2) Nobody takes it seriously except the Linux people who are only watching the Super Bowl for the Linux commercial they already knew was airing. - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+3lol
Describes half of the userbase... - DragonForce4, on 08/05/2008, -0/+2I once downloaded what I thought was porn off of Limewire and got that commercial with Mohammad Ali.
It was a dissapointing moment. - nihilism65, on 08/05/2008, -1/+3Forgot this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Sah-94wHJo
- abandonedhero, on 08/05/2008, -0/+2And give them more incentive to do it? No thanks.
- Hermmunster, on 08/05/2008, -0/+2I saw that and thought it was Bill Gate's mug shot.
- Jonez176, on 08/05/2008, -0/+2Don't take cracks at Linux commercials. It's open source so it really doesn't even have an owner, let alone the backing of a multi-billion dollar company to jam commercials down your throat.
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+23rd party betas crashing!?
It couldn't possibly be Adobe's or Macromedia's fault for pushing out ***** Flash players for the past... Forever. - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1Rapidshare?
Couldn't you find anywhere else?... like maybe Mediafire? - Hermmunster, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1Scrutiny*
Though one would think that screw-teny is what happens when you use Vista.
Son, they aren't lies. They are the truth. That's the point. You are always manipulated by one faction or the other. We tend to follow the path set before us when we begin our journey. It is only the wise that branch to the correct path as we evaluate the road ahead of us.
Every time I watch the Vista v. Mac commercials, every time I see ads in the news papers, every time I read a PR from companies like Microsoft, every time Ballmer opens his mouth, I understand that someone is lying.
Look at the display pictures at the fast food restaurants. Those depict some extremely nice meals. When you get them, if you look at what you got, you'll notice that the meal doesn't look like the picture. Taken to court the court rules that even though the pictures are misleading they are not misleading enough to make you get something you didn't expect. A meal though won't affect you for a long period of you life. Vista with the unacknowledged (and undisclosed to the general user) 47 programs that monitor you, collect info, and send that back to Microsoft, is much more damaging than the burger. It denies us the knowledge and choice.
The point is that Linux is a good OS and that this is the future of computing. Not one OS, not two OSes, but 3 or more OSes of which Linux is no longer a bit player. - duckyinc, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1Sorry for my mistake good sir but my point is you can never trust ads, much like how you can't take fox news are the only truth.
- spindoktr, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1Wait a sec...what the heck is that creepy first few frames at the start of the videos? Looks like Silent Hill or something!
- aamer, on 08/05/2008, -1/+2I like Linux, but most of these commercials are pretty lame/childish. Jeez, It's a f'n OS, not a holy war.
- ilgaz, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1So Novell puts a anti MS ad to TV? They have no shame do they?
- expert01, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Sorry, RS is the first place I think of when I think "gotta share my file"
