- theotheragentm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Is anyone else seeing a blank page? I thought this was Linux apps, not BeOS apps.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Super Burn! You are the insult master.
- babelfishi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2...wow. I personally prefer Super Tux much more. It reminds me of the original fun Mario game...
- hater2win, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I play Frozen Bubble and Super Tux so much. I wasted the past 4 days trying to beat level 98 on frozen bubble. Great game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2For the love of Jesus, stop with the apps pages already. I want to see news that is interesting. I came here because I thought a democratized system would provide me with a faster stream of nerdy yet cool information than Slashdot. This has not proven to be the case.
We understand you like to have Diggs put on the front page. Great. But you and these types of articles are dull. Go away. - Chrysalid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I agree with Urusai. These "Top x apps" and "What you need with linux" lists are boring me. Sombody should post something interesting for a change.
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh dear:
"I haven't actually used ..." x several times
+
"I don't think there are too many ... for Linux so it deserves a place" x once

a non-authority on the subject who wants to jump on the 'Top 10/25/50' bandwagon. - Wireddd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I fail to understand why you think linux is 57005. I mean that doesn't even make sense!
- chrono13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Google Cache with text only (faster): http://tinyurl.com/efpok
- JoPettitt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1One of my favourites is missing though under the multimedia section, PyKaraoke - otherwise a good list. Dugg.
- harishankar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Secondly as to the title "top 50" linux apps, that's purely a category which I intend to fill up over a period of time. Not instantly...
- harishankar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First of all, as the author of those articles, let me say that it's a work in progress. Naturally it's not complete. Secondly I am in no way saying that that's the ultimate top 50 list. It's *my* personal top 50 list and I posted the list on *my* blog with no intention that it be linked from here.
I don't know who "dugg" (if that's the term used) that and that's not my responsibility. If you don't like it, just delete the link to my article from here... - Izzie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1misleading title ... again !
how come there's only 25+ apps in a Top 50.
this list is not even a good one, it seems the author wanted readers to fill the list for him. - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Another top 10/20/50/100 list. Here's my top 10 Linux apps:
1) Linux,
2) Compiler for a language you're too ignorant to understand,
3) Ridiculous console application that's done better in Windows,
4) Some stupid application I really love that does something you don't care about,
5) Arcane administrative script,
6) Crappy proof-of-concept OpenGL game (no sound),
7) Nethack,
8) Ancient text editor (pick one of emacs/vi/vim/nano/pico/edlin),
9) Network utility/daemon (httpd, nmap or the like) that you'll never use,
10) Distribution specific utility.
Did I forget anything? I'd include Enemy Territory, but as the only real Linux game that doesn't involve copying your Windows install or futzing with Wine, it's too obvious. - goggwah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1google cache: http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:8Jaudj7_2R0J:hari.literaryforums.org/category/linux-related/top-50-linux-apps/+top+50+linux+apps&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=1
- Pestilence, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0posted the google cache link, but got beaten to it...
- st0kes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Why is this being digged?? It's pants. And there are only 25 apps listed.
- kiwimonk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Linux is DEAD!
