- dudefaceguyman, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2You should've just said you put up a poll in your description. Saying, "I have no source other then 'personal experience." basically is an auto bury for most diggers.
The Poll is interesting to see though. So far half are agreeing...and that's in a linux forum... - BrokeBody, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2New poll, stronger proof:

- yetAnotherCroc, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1Its not even a Poll for how many use windows as well as Linux. It's a poll for how many THINK everyone else does it. So instead of measuring the actual amount it measures the amount of people with that perception of the situation. Apart from sample error and bias it is also a meta survey? Talk about useless results.
- YodaNub, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1The poll where half are agreeing is asking if most Linux users HAVE Windows on their computer, not asking if Windows is the primary OS they use, like he claims. Vendor lock-in is a big part of why a lot of Linux users have Windows, but most Linux users primarily use....well, Linux.
- BrokeBody, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1As for Wine, it is well known that some major software, mostly "heavy" one (Photoshop, Sound Forge, Visio, ...), can't give you the same output quality as they can under Windows.
- czarr, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2Dugg down: Majority of UBUNTU users also use windows. This is like polling a preschool for how many still wet their pants and extrapolating that onto the rest of the populace.
- BrokeBody, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1It doesn't matter why do you dual boot. Whether you're locked into some windows-only software or not, the fact still remains, from my experience and point of view, that a lot of people dual boot.
- badassninja, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1This is just where we are. Lots of people are testing the waters and still have some windows programs/games that they feel like they can't live with out. I kind of wish that I would have never installed windows along with Ubuntu. I never ever log into windows. It's just a waste of 40 gigs.
- n0odles, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1I have to keep Windows for work related reasons, but Linux is my primary.
- CCmachined, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1because ***** like Adobe refuse to see the light.
Notes: i never use photoshop or any of their suite, and avoid Flash like the ***** plague.
(who else's Firefox is sluggish due to flash applets?)
