Oh, and there's also this version. It is probably a better dictionary, but it gives way too may results for a simple search. - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3maybe 1200 printable pages...
- en3r0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Great resource, going in my bookmarks!

http://virtenu.com - flex411, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Man pages are manuals?
- KAMI_no_kodomo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The average Linux user dusn't need that many terms.
My parents use Linux. They know 0 command lines, 0 program names.
And they do all they need. (By klicking on logical icons)
What distro I put them on? Ubuntu with Gnome. - DarthTurducken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I will love it and Digg it and call it George!
- DiscoLoke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, too much information! ++Digg. This is a great resource for anyone remotely dealing with linux in any way shape or form.
- cube3x3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its really nice, the best resource for quick reference.

Link from g2p.org - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice resource!! Dug!
- fani, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good. But couldn't find anything for "growfs" or "tailf"
How complete is it ? - PirateFSM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1is there anyway to get it in one printable page?
- sklegg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Most of these words have little or nothing to do with the Linux OS. Try using the man or apropos commands in bash.
- pHr34kY, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm. 'ubuntu' and 'fedora' aren't in that dictionary... but lots of other cool stuff is!
- zagi1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes thats true, an average user can escape without having to know what many commands do, since theres a GUI that covers most of the commands. Linux is about choice and you have the choice to use it however you want. Of course knowing a few commands would make your computing easier.
- rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1include wiki technology and some man action. some hot, man, action. ;)
- plugitin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm..lets se here. I searched for Fedora, one of the most popular Linux distros, and it came up with nothing. This dictionary sucks. I agree with you AMCer.
Mabye if you wanted to find some obscure piece of information from 5-10 years ago it might be nice, but if you search with something more recent you'll get close to nothing (or just nothing) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.google.com/linux
bigger! - PrettyBoyFloyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has some good information, but not entirely about Linux. I did a search for fstab, which I thought would be a fairly important term for a fairly important file in any linux system and it returned nothing. Nada. Searched for some other important files common to most Linux distros and again, no hits. Perhaps it just needs a better indexing routine.
- thidranki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1replied to wrong post. move down one post :P
- AMCer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1wiki=bad idea... It will ultimately degrade into an online area for a fight between the pro-Bush crowd and the anti-Bush crowd...
EXAMPLE: Open Source Movement - Something that the Bush Administration wants to suppress for Haliburton.
FOLLOW-UP RE_WRITE: Open Source Movement - Something that Al Gore invented. - MacNugget, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's certainly a useful collection of terms, but I'm having trouble seeing what it has to do with Linux.
- LemonHerb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3With that many terms there is no wonder while your average user doesn't feel comfortable with Linux.
- zmigliozzi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll second that, excellent resource
- mobbydick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1wow, there are about as many linux terms, as there are words in my vocabulary :)
- AMCer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Not a very good dictionary!
"796.) Slackware Linux

It's wrong, incomplete and has useless information.
