When you need wine to work and it doesn't
When a distros audio setup is so bad you just scrap the whole ***** thing
When Firefox freezes up your whole box for 15 seconds
When konqueror won't load web pages
When you can't get your icons to show up
When you can't get X11 to start up
When hardware acceleration just won't work.
That's pretty much all of the problems i've ever heard any other Linux user have including myself minus wireless networking (but I don't know what kinds of rediculess annoying things could happen there.)
Half of these are a product of user error... the NVidia ones you can't blaim the user for because nobody should be expected to know how to use Bash to install NVidia drivers, though I was able to get someone through it by just sending him the commands needed. ATI card users may be able to complain depending on what exactly happened. It really matters. I have the personal opinion that X11 sucks for Desktop usage.
(by user error, i mean messing up things themselves by doing something the wrong way, especially relating to package management) - glinsvad, on 06/21/2008, -4/+28Congratulations! Your comment meets the following criteria:

- MWeather, on 06/21/2008, -0/+5Pushing buttons and yanking out disks won't mess up Linux. Editing config files will, though it's a lot harder to mess up your Linux box by editing configs than it is to mess up Windows by editing the registry.

... is linux my father!? - inactive, on 06/21/2008, -1/+6Hah, When i need a laugh i go to digg and listen to rediculess trolls. And they make so little sense, it really does make my day. You're making Linux users look better by being so ignorant and redundant. Thank you ;) Because of posts like these, Now a friend who was previously bent on thinking annoying Ubuntu users justified not trying Linux is considering trying it.
