Are you by chance a Mac user? I used to know another guy who was a jerk much like you, and he was a Mac user.
Also, you make it obvious to anyone who even has a passing interest in Unix that you fail to comprehend the Unix philosophy. Unix hackers, even beginners are not "UNIX hacker wannabes". If anyone, that would be you for such a misguided post. Perhaps you got fed up with the learning curve and gave up before you learned anything useful, which would make sense if you were a Mac user? Unix in it's nature is giving to beginners. It is open shall we say to those who are open to it.
