Try playing it or even looking at it before you evaluate the graphics - it's clearly a modern game, it has HDR/bloom, high res textures etc. and it's very hard to believe it's ever been near the ET engine.

This piece of software is closed source - you do not have the right to modify it and redistribute it. Therefore it isn't "free as in speech". It is, however "free as in beer" since you can use it without payment. Heads up though, it's a ironsights/freeaim based game, so there's no magic crosshair + hipshots - you aim your gun like a real CT.

So the knowledge to do it is free, but you can sell your product. In TC:Elite case, the information on how to make mods for the quake2 engine, used in Wolfeinstein:ET, is freely available. Though you can't get the source code for TC:Elite, using it totally free, but you can't modify it.

Unfortunately an update by the end of the year and it ended up taking 2. So I moved on to other things.

- WallyAnti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's an awesome game, I've been hooked for about a month now. Most of the people who play are pretty good. Be prepared to get your arse handed to you for a while. The best advice I can give you is to not treat this like a deathmatch. You want to barely lean around a corner and inch your way around until you've surveyed the area ahead keeping your sights trained at chest or head level. Use short controlled bursts. If you aim for arms or legs they will trash you. I think there are four damage regions on the head alone so aim for the center. It's all about tactics and surprise. I know it sounds hard but you'll get the hang of it. Takes about a week to stay out of the negative scores. Also use the shadows for cover and avoid the lit open areas like the plague. If you have to cross them RUN for the nearest cover and always have a place to hide in mind when you move. Flanking is also a good way to get multikills but not so easy to achieve.

To the people who are having the infinite download problem:
You have to start from scratch with ET. Reinstall ET then install TC then patch TC. Otherwise you'll just sit there downloading .pck3 file forever. Don't know why it does this but the pck3 file is one of the main files for TC and is necessary. - reefresco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the mac version doesnt work at all. im on a 2ghz core 2 duo, when i try to change the resolution to my native it just quits out and errors. when i try to join a server it quits out. this game sucks.
