- MrYellow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This idiot either works for or is getting paid by microsoft. Every comment he makes is anti-apple, anti-FireFox, Anti-Linux to a point that defies common sense. Look at his profile and see for yourselves.

Dude, what's your problem? Why is that you troll these Linux threads? It's like you have this weird obsession. Go see doctor about your obsessive compulsive behavior - jondus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You're right change is bad. They shouldn't provide the consumers with options. Wait that's Microsoft's tag-line.
- shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47of7, just get out of the linux and apple sections ffs, all you do is troll.
- InfamousAtheist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am all for Dell and other computer manufacturers offering Linux instead of Windows. The potential to wake up the masses is definitely there... but it's still only potential and knowing the average computer user the way I do, I'm afraid it's going to stay that way. How many of your non-tech friends can install ndiswrapper and get a wireless card running?
Having *never* purchased a pre-built desktop machine in my life, I have to ask: why don't you just build your own? It's really not that difficult, and you don't get stuck with proprietary hardware from Dell, HP, etc and it's significantly cheaper. I've built every single computer I've ever owned (laptops provided by my employer don't count) and have always had solid, reliable systems for 2/3 the cost of a Dell or (insert high-priced name here) box.
The biggest sacrifice you make is support, but honestly, how many Dell support reps are better at troubleshooting computers than the digg community at large? - Somniis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2If you want Linux - download a distro and install it. It isn't THAT hard... complaining to Dell about not offering it is pointless, since Linux is by nature, free.
- Wezlanator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Speaking of Dell. What ever happened to the "Dude, your getting a Dell" guy?
- 7of7, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2How would getting linux be a positive change? It would waste potentially thousands of dollars and manhours for a change that would only be appreciated by a tiny but vocal minority of Dell users.
