- cawfee, on 08/27/2008, -0/+55Not necessarily related to the SpaceCube, but they should develop an interconnecting lego-like system for these cubes, where stacking them together results in a clustered computing environment. The more demanding the task, the more cubes you add, with one central cube to handle all the input / output. Though some will probably digg me down for it being useless in real world situations, it'd be a neat concept nonetheless.
- MrFurious2k, on 08/27/2008, -0/+36We are the Borg. Lower your shields, and surrender your ship. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service ours. Resistance is futile.
Hmm... they always looked bigger in the movies. - mlbwebdesign, on 08/27/2008, -0/+35Sorry sir, I swallowed the email server
- diggB, on 08/27/2008, -0/+30And a few hours later, a system dump occurred ...
- tnoy, on 08/27/2008, -0/+24Its a bit too expensive for the power. There are a few other embedded devices that are slightly larger, but twice as powerful and half the price. The Beagle Board is a good example of one ( http://beagleboard.org/ ).
- trogdor282, on 08/27/2008, -1/+20NOT the smallest Linux PC. Still pretty sweet though.

http://beagleboard.org/ - jeremyduffy, on 08/27/2008, -0/+19Put MAME on it and carry it to all your parties. Talk about a game cube.
- compsciguy, on 08/27/2008, -2/+20where can i buy one :)
- neowolfwitch, on 08/27/2008, -0/+17The headline is just plain wrong- there are a LOT of smaller Linux PCs out there, including Gumstix and Beagleboard. Most have more powerful CPUs and more memory, and cost a lot less. This reads more like a promotional editorial piece. Is it cool- sure, but it isn't really all that innovative. My cell phone has a more powerful processor and more memory, although admittedly it isn't running Linux.

This should be running DSL with some webkit based browser on it. - PopcornDave, on 08/27/2008, -0/+15Depending on your skill, you'll hit them?
- karlw, on 08/27/2008, -1/+15Wow, the price is a bit up there, but this is just cool. Now they just need build in 802.11.
- rugabug, on 08/27/2008, -0/+13Why would Men in Black and Girls in Black be stupid and confusing?
- Daniru, on 08/27/2008, -2/+15Here's hoping that the prefix of "Space" starts replacing the ubiquitous lowercase i.
- boobsbr, on 08/27/2008, -0/+13resistance is futile if less than 1 Ohm
- evnglion, on 08/27/2008, -1/+11if you ask me, the new Pico ultra-portable form factor from Via is a better solution. It will fit in a standard 5.25" drive bay, yet it is a much more powerful system than this is.

- erichw1504, on 08/27/2008, -1/+11The real question is: Will it blend?

The writer knew he'd get retards like you, but I guess he assumed they'd read it. - hyperionshift, on 08/27/2008, -1/+10Do they make one in the shape of a D20?
- deaftly, on 08/27/2008, -3/+12Too many comparison pics, we get it, its ***** small.
- aacidusX, on 08/27/2008, -1/+10uh, my windows mobile device has 256MB RAM, 128MB ROM, my 8GB microsd card, 400MHz processor, has 802.11b/g, built in speakers, bluetooth, etc.. how is that cube impressive?
- woflox, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8Space Pods?
- P8ntBal1551, on 08/27/2008, -1/+9ok, before i start, i just want to say i love linux, im a HUGE linux fan, the only reason i dont use it on my desktop is because i love gaming just a bit more, and with cedega i cant use another program i use, its unimportant
anyways
what the hell is the point of a pc that big
so you can say "i can throw my desktop further than you can" ?
i just don't see what the practical application of it is aside from bragging rights - shutaro, on 08/27/2008, -1/+9Feh, it's no Time Cube.

- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -2/+8Of course not, it runs on Linux
Badum-ba-psshhhhh - Scira, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6What happens if i throw it at someone?
- cbreaker, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5The gumstix units are faster, smaller, and a LOT cheaper.
- vwgtiturbo, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5Are you fscking me?! $2700 for this?!? No thanks... It has a novelty value, but my old shuttle, although bigger, is much more capable (come on, your apps have to be 'frugal' in relation to power requirements??) and a HELL of a lot cheaper.
- JediSean12, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4And we will call them BORG!
- digginamish, on 08/27/2008, -1/+5Would you actually pay $3000 for an underpowered linux box? Sure it's cute, but you could buy a phone AND a decent laptop for the same price.
Now, if you could join 125 of them together into a parallel super-cube-computer that could build evil robots bent on destroying humanity, then that would be cool. - MonoDede, on 08/27/2008, -1/+5It doesn't work that way...
- joesmilie, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4Is it just me or does that guy's hand look a bit strange?
- PopcornDave, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4That was my first thought that given its size, it's perfect to put a computer in your car. Add a 1T external drive, given that they've dropped to around $200, and you're set.
- andycr512, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4Intel Inside!
- leerayIG88, on 08/27/2008, -2/+6Now they need to paint it Red, blue, yellow, orange, and call it a rubik's cube.

spaceTunes

spaceMac... - Zuggy, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3If it wasn't so expensive it would be easy to make a large cluster out of these.
- Culyt, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3If he rolls a 1 he might drop it. Otherwise its a 20 for a chance at a critical hit.
- jonshipman, on 08/27/2008, -1/+4It's for Space deployment. Smaller=need less fuel to shoot to the moon.
- KidVicious, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3Off topic, but does anyone know what kind of cell phone that is in the first comparison photo?
- skidzilla, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3Beawolf clustering; Lego style? That's just an awesomely nerdy idea. :)
Tux'es assemble! Form of: Ninja Richard Stallman's beard. :P - cawpin, on 08/27/2008, -1/+4http://www.chippc.com/thin-clients/jack-pc/

If so, I'll take some. -
