- fatdog789, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22It's a company that makes electronic hats with LEDs in them.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Hell yeah, their hats kick major ass. I personally like their Fedora hats. ;)
- Dygear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7When you look at things like google, people do take notice, even of the little companies. They could just become the 800 pound gorilla of the future. I think I'll grab me some shares, I think this company is going places. Fedora rocks, and while I've not used RHEL, I hear it's like a rock.
- DaMoonRulz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Ticker Symbol (RHT)...and if you bought it in December of 02 till June of 04 you would have made about 400% on your money. So stockholders care. :)

- cwoolf34, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5My dad got the red hat that they all were wearing today outside the exchange. I might sell it on eBay. If anyone is interested in it just reply and I will give you more info. and a pic.
- rfunches, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"ticker symbol's actually RHAT"
Until the opening bell yesterday (Tuesday) it was RHAT. It now trades under RHT.
NYSE tickers are 1-3 letters, NASDAQ/AMEX and other securities are usually 4-5. - zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This would likely have been much bigger news about 5 years ago. Now... not so much.
- sl4x0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3ticker symbol's actually RHAT. ipo was at $14, i believe it went well into the 70's by the second day of trading. 500% within a matter of days, a lot of people made a load of cash with the quickness =)
- Dygear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That would be pretty cool, would not happen to have a blue one too would ya?
- joerod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I work on wall street and they had red had banners and a red hat inflatable hat on the stock exchange.
- Hardcase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't really buy RedHat's reasoning for moving to the NYSE. They claim that there is less volatility on the big board than on NASDAQ, so it will help the stock price and options accounting. That's a bunch of baloney - NASDAQ is volatile because volatile stocks are traded there. NYSE is less volatile because of the huge number of stocks traded and because it is well balanced. But individual stocks traded on the NYSE are just as volatile as individual stocks on NASDAQ. Investors don't trade based on exchanges, they trade based on stocks. My guess is that this is just a "prestige" move on RedHat's part. I'll bet that the stock retains whatever volatility it had at NASDAQ.
- herrshuster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Did they used to be on the MEEN?
- laplacian, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5wow one comment is so dumb yet so smart at the same time:
