- mindsnare, on 10/16/2007, -2/+1uhhhh.....hmmm
- macro, on 10/16/2007, -1/+1no they have not. But you can take hack tool instead...
- madhellrazor, on 10/16/2007, -10/+3Shouldn’t this be in the Gaming part of the news category? i mean we have one for a reason, im glad Linux is finally getting a game, but at least put it in the right area.
I cant help if no one in the gaming part of the site cares enough to dig it up, but this is the wrong area for it.- AvintheDooM, on 10/16/2007, -5/+1LOL BITCH.
- MichaelDaley, on 10/16/2007, -1/+4Quake Wars isn't that newsworthy, but a 3D game for Linux is. So it is in the right category and you are way too anal.
- sprash, on 10/16/2007, -6/+1Hmm... doesn't Work on my Macbook Pro with Ubuntu 7.10. Any suggestions?
- rdelcueto, on 10/16/2007, -1/+3Ummm... I really don't know a thing about Mac's hardware, so I guess I won't be of much help.
Try posting @ the Ubuntu forums. I'm sure you'll find better help there. =)
Cheers! - Klowner, on 10/16/2007, -0/+12I love it when people provide a detailed description of what did or didn't happen when they have a problem.
"Sorry, I was going to bake you a cake but it didn't work, any suggestions?" - geoken, on 10/16/2007, -1/+5"My car is acting odd. What part do I need to replace?"
- sprash, on 10/16/2007, -1/+2Ok. I found the problem. You have to disable xgl first and then run the Game.
- etx313, on 10/16/2007, -3/+1I suggest you quit being such a *****!!
- rdelcueto, on 10/16/2007, -1/+3Ummm... I really don't know a thing about Mac's hardware, so I guess I won't be of much help.
- azprofessional, on 10/16/2007, -3/+4Cue the Haters!
"Hate hate hate hate hate hate..."
Im gonna try this out later today- norman619, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2Haters? I see none of these haters you speak of.
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1It's not that bad a game, but there are better ones. Team Fortress 2 works very well in wine (I have yet to try this, but I've heard very good things) and I LOVE that game.
- thushan, on 10/17/2007, -0/+21one less reason to reboot!
- errfunction, on 10/17/2007, -0/+10Oh sweet Jesus. Thank you thank you thank you. So much for me getting anything done today.
- fak3r, on 10/16/2007, -2/+1I'm expecting good things from this, but I've been out of online gaming since Return to Castle Wolfenstein - for some reason that game did it for me. Hoping this brings me back in, lovely to have another option in Linux too!
- halobender, on 10/16/2007, -0/+3It's too bad most new FPS games are just the old ones with fancy graphics.
- MiDri, on 10/16/2007, -12/+6Now the Linux community can feel the disappointment that is, "QUAKE WARS!"
- norman619, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2Na it's a good game. Not destined for greatness but still worth playing.
- bigteebo, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1Sadly, I agree with you. I loved Wolf:ET and played it for HOURS on end. I was on Chigc.com which had 64 players in all-out war. This modernized version with aliens just doesn't have the same zing to it. Maybe I was expecting moreso just Quake with crazy weapons and combat. I'm finding myself saying no to this and UT and playing TF2 instead.
- OrangeTide, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1It does not look very impressive from the screenshots. Kind of reminds me of a cross between Quake I and Quake III rendering. Maybe it's just all those ugly green and brown textures.
- geoken, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1I agree with MiDri, if you've never played BF2142 then it's fine but if you have you'll feel like you playing the BF Quake Mod.
- Unique, on 10/16/2007, -4/+1How do you change res on the Linux Demo???
- coredump0x01, on 10/16/2007, -0/+4Main menu, top of the screen click "Options" then again at the top click "Settings" (not "game settings"). The resolution options are at the bottom of the dialog that pops up.
- ptemple, on 10/16/2007, -2/+0If you have two monitors, how do you stop the screen from being split down the middle?
Phillip.- norman619, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2Take a look at your card control panel. There should be an option there to force a window to use one or the other when they happen to land in the middle like that.

- mcrules, on 10/16/2007, -2/+5Oh well, there goes my free time... and thank you submitter for not saying Ubuntu game
- norman619, on 10/16/2007, -0/+4Wish they'd do this with a game like Crysisor Gears Of War. :-(
- Icecream, on 10/17/2007, -0/+13UT3 Is coming to Linux
- norman619, on 10/16/2007, -3/+5is UT3 = UT2007?
- cgruber, on 10/16/2007, -0/+5yes
- norman619, on 10/16/2007, -3/+5is UT3 = UT2007?
- sparr, on 10/16/2007, -1/+3And no linux version of TF2* (assuming I would ever use Steam)... Three guesses which company is getting my $50 when the time comes.
* - yeah, I am playing the nosteam version in wine. but they wont sell it to me. - derkmerkin, on 10/16/2007, -1/+3I'd rather have a native TF2 for linux. : /
- amenic, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2I love this game! Great depth for an FPS. Classes on either side are not identical and have distinct differences, great map and objective variation and the overall balance for an FPS with some RTS qualities is very well done. Great graphics / frame rates. Overall a very fun game. I can't wait until more people figure out how to play it :)
Glad to see Id is on the road to mandating cross platform gaming! - BryanQ, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2Linux dedicated server for the Unreal Tournament 3 beta demo now available!
3dgamers.com - lilianatota, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2Linux will be the best platform for gaming .
I will definitely try this out with my Red Hat system. - derekknight, on 10/17/2007, -3/+22001 called. Wants its 3rd person shooter back.
