Look ma! I bought you some protection from Microsoft's IP claims. Cost me a fortune. - poppycocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Open Prosthetics Project" Are you tired of having just 2 arms, and 2 legs? If you said yes to this, then you have come to the right place. Yes we have the technology, the equipment, and with your donations you too could have a third arm. That's right a third arm. According to our R&D peeps, This will actually be a law in many states if you are a person who uses the cell phone, drinks, has breakfast, and smokes while driving. Don't wait until it passes as a law though, the time to get one is now. The possibilities for using your third arm are endless! Just think of how many words per minute you could type, how you could brush your teeth while fixing your hair, and putting on makeup.
If you really want to know what to get Johnny for Christmas, this is it. A third arm.
Seriously though, I think this is a great organization, and everyone that can afford to donate should. This could be a huge leap for the open source community to join into the physical world, and how better then with health care. Especially with the war going on, people are loosing limbs constantly, and this could be one of the best humanitarian efforts in history.
Not to mention... Who doesn't want to be the million dollar man!!! - krinthekuz, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3I want an openmoko2... the 2nd gen which will have wifi and all. I have the motorola A1200 but it's locked down pretty tight. The openmoko will be awesome.
