But for Palm, it's a sad story. They're losing market share as we speak. - scamper22, on 10/05/2008, -2/+15Motorola Career:

//you know what I'm talking about - inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+11Motorola Makes good looking phones but their Software Sucks Ass. I hope for their own good they shift to Android.
- Balanced, on 10/05/2008, -0/+7Yay for Overly Exuberant Capital Letters!
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 10/05/2008, -1/+5Wait, you mean Android might take market share from Palm? That's a new sentiment on Digg. You'd think that the iPhone and Android were the only two smartphones ever made and would compete exclusively with each other by reading a lot of the articles and comments in here.
- phaedrusiszen, on 10/05/2008, -2/+5I've been waiting for Android to come out till I buy my next phone. It's here, I want, but I won't go back to T-Mobile. Motorola makes awesome hardware, but their OS sucks. Combined with Android, they may be top.
- PaulOwen, on 10/05/2008, -2/+5Motorola Exec: "Hey you guys, well aboard - we're a swell team. So looking forward to getting things Moto-rolling ..."
Google Android Devs: " ... "
Motorola Exec: "We're going to work on an exciting product called the MOTODROIDR. You see what we did? We took the word Motorola, mixed it with ANDROID and put an R on the end just like all our other products."
Google Exec: "Let's talk features ... "
Motorola Exec: "No, let's talk branding opportunities and upgrade paths. We call the shots now ... " - griffeycom, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3I've always liked my Motorola Phones and I'm glad to hear they're going to use Android.
- abbathdoom, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2All those year of the Linux desktop articles... I bet they never guessed that the year of the Linux desktop will come from there first being a year of the Linux netbook and a year of the Linux phone, but its these two things over the next couple of years which seem to be what will eventually make Linux go mainstream on the desktop.
- collution, on 10/05/2008, -1/+3It's good that a market leader is embracing this software. Next year will be a good year for Android and an even better year for Open Source.
- lazyslacker, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2I would have preferred Samsung or Sony Ericsson to start using Android. I haven't liked any Motorola phone I or anyone I've known has owned in the past. Oh well.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+1I still like the palm OS, i wish they had it instead of windows mobile
- jswaby, on 10/05/2008, -2/+3I saw this on slashdot yesterday.. still pretty exciting though. I just got my android book last week, and I've been blowing through the chapters. Everything about the platform is exciting. I just hope the phones that end up using android are as feature rich as the android OS allows.
- JazLive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Hmmm not sure I like to volunteer in Big Brother's new technology yet.
- DulcetTone, on 10/05/2008, -1/+1Facebook should merge with Palm. I'm sure the market would warm to the Face-Palm
- Definition, on 10/06/2008, -1/+1I wouldn't say that, however Palm isn't showing as much innovation as it's competitors, RIM, Apple, or the Open Handset Alliance.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -1/+1Now if they could only hire someone to create a decent phone
- Atomic1fire, on 10/05/2008, -2/+2they should just open up palm code and join android.
it would at least give them a new market, or allow google to get expertise in the pda/phone area. - Tyrant505, on 10/05/2008, -2/+1All Aboard! Please ignore the rising water level.
- verkon, on 10/05/2008, -2/+1my Z8 got an awesome OS as it is. UIQ less then 3
