- ArthurSucks, on 11/15/2008, -1/+7I'm so glad I found this! I have an old laptop that I use, I gotten so used to having AWN in my work flow that it always felt naked without it. Great post.
- TheWindBlows, on 11/15/2008, -2/+5Metacity's compositing isn't meant to use hardware acceleration and is more for applications to be able to compositing window manager api's.
- weizbox, on 11/15/2008, -1/+3If you have an older laptop, you should probably avoid using more bells and whistles like the metacity composting and AWN :)
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -4/+6Once again, GNOME/Metacity has nothing over KDE/Kwin. Really lackluster compared to KDE 4's eye-candy bling.
- wendall911, on 11/15/2008, -1/+2I think it's great that Metacity focuses on high productivity compositing rather than "bling".
