--Bill Gates (when Microsoft was smaller) - schestowitz, on 02/26/2009, -3/+9The "anti" here is a company attacking freedom. Don't confuse defender and offender (who makes new laws to protect abusive monopoly).
- johnsu01, on 02/27/2009, -0/+4I don't think the Gates quote is out of context -- Microsoft regularly argues against software patents when it suits them (pun intended):

;)
I actually read the available court documents, and all I can say is the patent system is broken, and the courts are broken. Apparently "obviousness" means something different to patent examiners. - TaintedJury, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1Microshaft TM underestimated the fervor and furor of the common nerd (Nemo Fossor) when inflamed! Microsoft wanted to inflate its 'Brand' by asserting a high-value patent portfolio pending. But Micro turned out to be just common patent-squatters (Keeper Wicketus). Fortunately, the Linux aspect of the claims were detailed enough that they could be discredited. Tiny TomTom saw through the macro-bluff, and slapped poor Micro silly!
Microshaft will be releasing a competing GPS unit later this year, product code: Microshaft T++. It will run on the new, Microshaft L++ operating system, eh? - inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+2Is Steve Ballmer a daemon?
