- hyperfusion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I totally agree with you, but most die-hard *nix fans would tout config file editing and compiling a *feature*.
- Eugenia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5A good guide.
Here's mine about how to do the same with Infrared: http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=12272 - t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://www.integrasoftware.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=84&Itemid=28
There's what you want. - radu79, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6That's what I never liked about Linux, that a lot of things require stuff like recompiling the client, manually adding stuff in config files, doing a lot of command line tricks, RTFMing 10 manuals, 2 hours of googling...
They should make some group to just write tools to automate all those tasks, possibly witha GUI frontend.. - radu79, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4They can keep that for the die hard fans, so long as there is an option for the peasantry :)
- kevincw01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it's called windows and mac. If you want those features, you either have to think or pay money for somebody to do it for you.
- marcushellberg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a similar howto for the new nokia eseries and other series 60 3rd edition phones if anyone is interested. http://www.marcushellberg.com/pages/projects/nokia-e-series-gprs-settings.php
- nklynx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How about the other way around - Using your PCs internet connection on your cell phone via bluetooth (sony erricson models only):

it works on my w900i
useful or useless depending on your p.o.v. - t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, that one is much easier to follow.
- bradpitcher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Meh, there are better articles on the topic, for example:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BluetoothDialup - supervapio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome. This is too common nowadays.
- topicnation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful I bet this article was here about a year ago.
- b7illsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Horrible. Not the articles, the method.
- radu79, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yes, that is nice, assuming that your BT device is supported by Linux and it is autoconfigured (drivers loaded automatically, etc.)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Nice to see the folklore is written down. I used to futz with this several years back via IrDA, and once on an early SE with BT. It never really was much good.
These days I use a Mac. When I travel I connect via a BT connection to the GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA network and share my net connection via WiFi to my girlfriends PowerBook.
:-) - LeeRa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Right!
And if you think bluetoth is difficult, just try to make a DVB-T stick work in linux... - elkos, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Nice one, now i can keep digging on the go without having to install spywar.... ooooops excuse me people I wanted to say "without having to install windows xp on my laptop"
