That you claim to be using a Linux Desktop and have to invoke DOS just begs incredulity. Using this OpenSuse desktop I can right now browse, email, play multi-media, burn cds etc. All without once having to learn volumes of DOS commands. You're just reading from an old fud script.
“I really like Linux and I really believe it can be a viable alternative”
Try some of these Desktops.

- harlowsmonkeys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If schestowitz's complaint about rodtrent was the same one schestowitz has posted to usenet several times, it is not surprising he did not get the response he wanted. What schestowitz is claiming on usenet is that rodtrent has posted "thousands" of pro-Microsoft anti-Linux FUD submissions to Digg. Checking rodtrent's profile here, both recent submissions and random samples of earlier submissions, reveals that schestowitz is wrong.
When people on usenet checked rodtrent's profile here, and called schestowitz on his bogus claims, he changed the complaint to be just about rodtrent's technology posts. But checking just those reveals again the schestowitz was wrong. Then he said he meant rodtrent's comments, not his submissions. And then he went back to the original claim about submissions. - schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's a shillfest, which I urge everyone to bury. I have already explained to Digg staff that Rod Trent is here promoting Microsoft's agenda. They have not taken any action.
- Waterrat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1 As can I..Ive used it over a year and can count on one hand how many times I've had to use the dreaded command line.
- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The article was written by "Ron Schenone, MVP"
The submitter of this Digg item is Rod Trend, a Microsoft MVP as well
The domain cited is lockergnome.com, a site owned by Chris Pirillo, a Microsoft MVP.
The first comment is clearly written by a Microsoft fanboy.
Yes, Digg has officially been taken over by shills.
Have the 4 of you gotten your Ferrari laptops yet? How many Wikipedia pages have you edited? - Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You lose all credibility when you continously use the phrase "Linux nerds".
I'm a meat-headed rugger, and I can use Linux with no problems. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1No. And it never will be, so give up these endless goddamned posts.

What is Digg?
