What happened to Sk0t is ridiculous. He had a spotless record, not even a blip on the radar. Because some big money producer is worried an using the RIAA, MPAA, and the government as hired brigands to guard his bank account, sk0t got shafted.
Don't get me wrong, he committed a crime and should be penalized, but the penalty should fit the crime. There is a guy in Michigan that raped a 3 year old, got probation and counseling. This was a non-violent crime and a first offense. He cooperated fully. He should not have done time, period, but they wanted to make poster boys out of the folks they arrested. Restitution, or house arrest would have been in order.
MPAA+RIAA=MAFIAA Period. The music industry is an old outdated machine, going the way of the 8 track player. The movie industry is desperately trying to hold onto it's control, money and power, but they too are a dinosaur that is slowly, painfully going extinct. The artists and creators of art, music, movies are all realizing this, and moving away. This type of persecution is a feeble attempt by an industry circling the drain, and is forcing more consumers and artists away form these megalomaniac corporations.
Forcing sk0t to use Windows is yet another way for them to make money. If they want to monitor him they should buy him a copy of Windows, or get an author to port it to Linux. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1***** the police =/
- sk0t, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Well, I asked, and he is going to 'most likely (after some more research into it)' file an injunction.
- DoubleOBond, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0y0himba...I was talking about his lawyer...ask his lawyer the advice....
