- strabes, on 10/12/2007, -7/+38Yeah it really is. I'm using flash 9 for linux right now to view it.
- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Wow. A goldmine. Also noteworthy: http://osvids.com/
- capiCrimm, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19I like how it's flash, cause that's really linuxy.
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12While Flash 9 works fine on x86 Linux they should preferably use an open standard in order that X86_64 and PPC users can see it. After all if Linux supporters don't back open standards then how can we expect others to.
- rmerrick, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I know it is rude to explain a joke but here goes:
Adobe's Flash Pro 8 does not run in Linux. The presentation was *created* in another OS. - Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@strabes
"Yeah it really is."
I hope that was a joke. Assuming it wasn't...
There is nothing Linux-ey about Flash - not only is it proprietary, but its developers obviously think of Linux as a less important platform than Windows and OS X.
Just because they've finally got round to finishing the Linux version does not make it in-tune with Linux philosophy. - jeanmaxime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6and what did you select ? Spam ? inaccurate ?
It's like digging a story without reading it! - hungryduck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Grandma Linux® Anyone?
- philaiv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nope, and that's why it's dead. But, it'll be interesting to see how many diggs it gets when obviously no one will be able to RTFA.
- mxmike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ok someone needs to make this thing available for full download. Its a great video but for crying out loud!
What is linux?
Linux is... [10 minutes later] a free open source.....
[10 minutes later] operating system...
I would rather wait 10 hours for the whole thing to download than sit and listen to parts of it every 10 minutes. Or at least give us a transcript or something. - Wireddd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3anyone mirror it?
- underdog5004, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4OK, ok, first off, Linux is _not_ based on Unix. It was originally a free clone of minix, made for poor college kids like me.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm gonna dig it just cause it's Linux and I love the friendly computer voice.
- regeya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You're new here, aren't you?
Or are you one of those 'special' people who just never get it? - roxics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah but OSVids needs to add sound. Just watching someone move their mouse around the screen gets really boring. I want some commentary. Talk to me, show me how to use the system. Tell me the pros and cons of that OS, first impressions and so on. Youtube is the same way, there are all these OS videos but no one talks during them, like everyone is scared to talk. These could all be such great videos with a little commentary.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Your grandma doesn't even know what a driver is, so she wouldn't get much further in windows (go to ati.com, download exe etc...). - BlackAdderIII, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bah, if they're that way inclined, I can kick them in the balls for $50 less than that.
- dschep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1GMorgan, I'm viewing it now with flash 9 on a x86_64 system with no problems. Though as you mention, it wont work on PPC, or Sparc, etc.
- Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thanks for that.
*Blocks*
*****. - srg13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There has been a big increase in comment spam over the last week. I never noticed it before, but now it's on every story.
Just block them - it'll get them banned. - Excessive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@LadyBeGood
Good luck with your FreeBSD with that attidude. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Wow, can I run digg on vista ?

- BlackAdderIII, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Any computer shop except moron rapers^w^w PC world will be able to help you.
I wonder why you're not aware of that. - jwagon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Wow, great idea! Now can you make a video that shows my grandma how to reconfigure her xorg.conf to recognize her video card from the command-line? Thanks!
- Hydraulix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1So you're the owner of http://sudophreak.com/ !
AKA the worst website I've ever seen. - AlexLand, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Holy ***** another 'introduction to linux' story! That's only the 3rd today!!
- indiekiduk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2How about a video showing your grandma trying to ask for a webcam that works on Linux in any computer shop.
- diggsIt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3su su sud(i)o
