Well, apparently you aren't aware, but Gnome and KDE are the most common Linux GUIs. Granted KDE seems a bit more functional, Gnome is also a good GUI, which in a lot of ways is superior to the Windows Explorer interface.
Oh, and if you don't like Gnome, you can always install KDE on a Ubuntu installation...you aren't forced to accept what is given to you.
Me, personally, I am looking at putting Fedora 11 on my other laptop.
(Typing this from a Windows machine...so I can complain and compare the GUIs.) - LostOverThere, on 02/21/2009, -1/+11Hah, I love how this guy claims to not care but runs around posting comments all over the place. Good times, Good Times.

- abbathdoom, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6Actually in the past 6 months or so Canonical have hired a whole bunch of interface gurus and designers, just none of their work has so far made it into the distro. You might ask why its taken them this long to hire those guys, but at least now we can look forward to an Ubuntu that isnt fugly.
- bluechild, on 02/20/2009, -6/+11Since we're in K, let's do it right and put some KDE on :P
