- cburgdorfer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I am keeping some sort of private how to collections on www.how2s.org - feel free to contribute! (There is much room for improvement there, I know)
- puggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've always appreciated HOWTOs that are straight to the point and gets the job done. I'm sorry but it's hard to read those articles that are too "chummy" and are peppered with things that distract the reader. Authors are free to apply their own style just like in any kind of writing. However, when you need help and you just want to finish the task at hand, a clean and straightforward document is preferable instead of reading through something like, "Okay dudes, before we set-up the RAID array, make sure you have your pizza and diet coke beside you."
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The article suggests it's for for online stuff but don't forget to keep it simple for helpdesk documentation and the like!
Anyone who writes documentation, should always state the PURPOSE of the document and HOW the problem is most likely to have arisen. This is often missed out and confuses many a new person. - spadin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Would this be considered a howto howto?
