OK so what happened. The link posted is down for me. Is this about some HD-DVD key? And if so is it the same key below this story on the front page?

Going up... this article is going up by 10 each time i refresh it... lets make this one number one so not only will everyone know about they key, but they will also know of digg's censorship... And until I see a court notice saying you must take down articles with the number well then that means your activly censoring it digg and thats not right. I agree if you get a court order saying it must go down then take it down, but don't just give in like you are currently.

I think i'll make something with the number 5 as its decryption key and start suing anyone who uses the number 5...

Its becoming all too clear that the myth of Digg censorship is now a reality. For months now they've been hiding behind the idea that the community was "Bury"ing stores, but looking at recent comments and talking directly to people about their own Digg experiences it is clear that the "Bury" button is being hit by the Digg censorship team. Digg is becoming horrible. We need somethin new.

Personally, I like the idea of burying everything.

The part that's inexcusable is not comment from official digg sources. They've been on a day long gestapo like ban censor hunt and have remained completely silent. It's time for digg's drunken little fuhrer to come out of his bunker and say something. YOU OWE US!!. We the digg community made you. You are nothing without us. Who really gives a sh1t if you got banned. Good riddance. That site with the key on it had a bunch of Google ads on it that the guy was trying to get clicks from.
Its not Diggs fault that they don't want some commercial site posing as a legit site. It was Blog Spam plain and simple and thats that I reported it as.

IBTL. I think censorship is crap, but nothing is stopping digg from doing it, unless we all leave. I don't see that happening.

Buried, but not deleted. At this point, it may be due to people being annoyed by what is somewhat a dupe, but who knows.

Its not being deleted it has been been blocked by digg from appearing on any pages if i'm not misteaken the only way to reach it atm is direct link or search.

i don't understand why everyone posts the key all over their posts... we all know it by heart already...

First day properly on Digg, this happens...

I remember when Slashdot admins removed post about Church Of Scientology. And they explained that they needed to remove it, and blah blah... From that time I disliked Slashdot and its lame admins.

Now looks like Digg has similiar problem.

I joined last night simply to digg and comment on the infamous post. I'm sad that a site I've been lurking on for so long has, well, lost it's roots.

This represents more than just HD-DVD. It represents free speech. History shows that despite every effort of any organization or government, the free flow of information will ultimately prevail. It may just be a code to most, but to me it's an advance for consumerist rights, and not getting pushed around by any business with enough money to do it.

So Digg deleted a story that got over 15,000 diggs? Talk about a slap in their users' faces. This whole key thing is going to be a PR nightmare for Digg. They're deleting, burying, and censoring stories for containing a string of 16 hexidecimal numerals. That's waking up a lot of people to how Digg really operates. It has certainly woke me up. Now I KNOW there's funny manipulation of which stories appear on the front page.
