- nanostream, on 04/11/2008, -0/+6well, when you put it that way...
- oobuntu, on 04/12/2008, -0/+6usually i find the best method is to wait 2 days after release and check ubuntuforums to see if dist-upgrade worked smoothly for 90% of users
- tj111, on 04/12/2008, -0/+4I just did a dist-upgrade yesterday. I have two unkown libraries that crashed on first boot, but I haven't noticed any difference without them. Everything else works perfectly, even the Firefox 3 upgrade to import settings, bookmarks, plugins etc. The only annoyance was that it uninstalled the compiz-settings manager, so I had to re install that through symantic to customize compiz. Loving the new features though, and new updates are rolling in on an hourly basis.

P.S. You guys make a great VODCast. I catch it with Miro. - inactive, on 04/12/2008, -1/+4mmmm, Hardy Heroin...
- akkibaba, on 04/12/2008, -0/+3I'm going to do a clean install, but only because I need to move some partitions around and such. Otherwise, my last two 'dirty' upgrades have been flawless. I don't think a clean install is really needed for most people, it's just an additional hassle.
- EstT, on 04/12/2008, -0/+3I like it dirty... oh yes i do
- sfury, on 04/12/2008, -1/+3still haven't decided, but definitely will play first with the Kubuntu KDE4 LiveCD to see if it is usable enough already (yeah i know i should probably wait for 4.1, but it's very tempting even at this stage)
- kdruckman, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1I am a Miro fan too! Thanks for watching :)
- trunkboy, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1Hey thanks! They're a ton of fun to make. :)
- Bicep, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Since I have gutsy on both a home pc and a work pc, I'll probably upgrade first on the home pc and then go fresh with the work pc(with not letting it step on my Mac OSX install, but then who cares about that anyway). But then again, maybe I should do the other way around, the work pc has VMWare server and Thunderbird for IMAP installed as well. Linux ROCKS!!! Freedom ROCKS!! Thank you Linux/FOSS/GNU devs!
- yurtletheturtle, on 04/12/2008, -1/+1LOL!
- thewump, on 04/12/2008, -3/+3Clean install Pro: Install the OS on a 10k rpm drive now that they are reasonably affordable
Clean install Pro: Install on any other drive, and you keep your previous version avaiable just-in-case
Upgrade Con: If you using dual monitor, I bet the upgrade breaks it
