- BLyn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+52Am i the only one who doesn't have 'photographic adhesive paper'?
I do have scissors though. - str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -4/+50I support Richard Stallman's efforts, but I don't think I want a sticker of his mug slapped on my computer.
- geoken, on 10/10/2007, -0/+39The Linus sticker is creepy.
- timestar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+33(from the site, in case it goes down)

- AlanLivingston, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I hope the Stallman sticker isn't Scratch-N-Sniff!
- DonCarcharo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20This is about the ugliest collection of icons & logos I've ever seen. Only about five of those actually look professionally done (in my opinion Ubuntu, Suse, Mono, Inkscape and of course Firefox). And the Stallman caveman head just scares the heck out of me. It seems to me the open source movement really needs some decent artists & designers.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15don't cut yourself.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16For a bit more low-tech approach.
1. Print "stickers" on regular paper.
2. Get a roll of clear contact paper from any Home Depot.
3. Cut "stickers" to the size you want.
4. Cut off a piece of the contact paper big enough for all your stickers to fit on it, with about a half inch of room in between each sticker.
5. Remove the paper backing from the contact paper and place all your "stickers" face down on the adhesive side.
6. Cut another piece of contact paper the same size as the first.
7. Place your first piece of contact paper adhesive side down (the same side you stuck the stickers to) on the NON-adhesive side of the second piece of contact paper.
8. Cut around your stickers, leaving about 1/16" of space around the edge of each sticker.
9. Voila! You now have DIY stickers on the cheap.
This is how I used to make skateboard stickers for myself when I was *much* younger...except I hand-drew all my own stickers instead of printing them. - Yuo122986, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13and glue? this, can't fail
- badmagicnumber, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13What, no BSD stickers ?
- kliptic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11love it, but step 4 might be tricky:
* Fourth, stick the sticker/s in your computer.
Should be
* Fourth, stick the sticker/s on your computer. - kinghajj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I don't think that most programmers are artists, at least not in the typical way.
- asskicker32, on 10/10/2007, -9/+19dont you mean
buy it
use it
break it
fix it
crash it
change it
now upgrade it? - compgeek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9dugg for the linux inside stickers and the firefox sticker. I gotta get me the FF sticker
- kinghajj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I thought that the stickers are just for GPL software, but there are Firefox stickers, so that can't be the case. I wonder what the criteria for inclusion are? The creator liked the software? That might explain the lack of BSD and Ruby stickers, among others. Maybe popularity was the criterion? That would explain the lack of BSD, maybe, but I think that Ruby is sufficiently popular.
- jeffeb3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I don't even have a windows sticker!
- seantron, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9me speak enlish, that's unpossible.
- cyberscape2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6What, don't you want a sweet, sweet Firefox sticker roasting on *your* CPU?
*watches his CPU sizzle* - geoken, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Apparently you're not aware of the massive performance improvements that stickers give you.
- Jacob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Take the windows sticker off before you put one of these on they come off fairly easily. It's what I did when I got my dell. (before they started selling ubuntu dells now I would just buy one of those.)
- DonCarcharo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It's really not that bad. If you stick a Geico logo next to Stallman's head, it actually looks half decent.
- ViciousDotOrg, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8This is a fantastic collection. Perfect for the system builder. I wish I had that 10+ diggs button right about now.
- surfing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I don't care what mom said, go ahead and run with them
- gravityboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Why on earth is this under a non-free (non-commercial only) license? That's more than a little absurd given that every piece of software that they've made the stickers for is under a more free license than the stickers themselves.
- geoken, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4texpundit, I'm sure your solution works but wouldn't it be way easier to go to staples and get some adhesive paper for your printer?
- omueller, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They are also missing a "Perl" or "TIMTOWTDI" sticker... :-(
- zip000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I think the Fedora, Debian, gnome, and kde are all pretty good too.
- deadlikeoscar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, but I bet that way is a lot cheaper.
- jmnormand, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3perhaps those cheesy metallic shipping labels would work? most print shops wont do less than 250...
- MajorSmall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3First, the way the title is written, it is meant as (Free Software) Sticker Book, not Free (Software) Sticker Book.
Either way, 'Free' refers to the license under which the book and software represented within are released under, not the price ;-) - MBHoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4It's digg. Somebody will.
- expliquezvous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3if that offended you, you must be a sensitive fella
- ant9821, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Dugg, but grudgingly due to the lack of a Gentoo sticker :-(
- JernejL, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2think we could get stallman to shave his beard?
- larrythedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Of course if you use the metallic paper, any white areas would be printed (or "not printed" to be precise) silver! Unless you're one of those rare folks with a white ink cartridge!
- livevil, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Anyone know a place that makes the metallic stickers?
- stalefries, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Buy shiny sticker paper.
- stalefries, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Firefox is GPL, LGPL and MPL.
- deadlikeoscar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3There's not enough warez in the world to make me go back to Windows.
- davidrools, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2or "Free Free Software Sticker Book"
- zingyGecko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Chicks dig it.
- Maczimus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1http://stickerbook.es.gd/ another mirror and they have added more stickers.....check it out again
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I really hope that was sarcasm.
- gravityboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They've just changed it to MIT! Good job!
- larrythedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This looks like what you're after... about $9 for 8 8.5 x 11 sheets, plus shipping http://www.hyaz.com/inkjet%20gold%20%20silver%20self%20adhesive.html
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well, there is a FreeBSD one included.
It's actually one of the better looking stickers too. - grenden, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Am I the first person to suggest a digg sticker? Oh wait, that would be bad...they already sell stickers at the digg store. http://www.jinx.com/digg/rectangle_sticker.html?catid=53
- ninja0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah... just a bit.... Maybe you can use it in place of a "beware of dog" sign.
- oneoverzero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1it is new
