- weizbox, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Why is another distro needed for this? Can't they just have a premade home profile/meta-package instead? It would be a lot easier than having to install a whole distro just for what essentially is just a few added packages and theme settings. I mean... it's not like the kids would be installing this by themselves to begin with in most situations... and if they could, i doubt they would be using the kids edition.

Not just the applications and games that are included, but the customized menu and kid friendly artwork. Many people with kids have a dedicated system for them, usually the parents old computers.
