- corevette, on 10/12/2007, -5/+169It's also a bit like putting Firefox inside of Firefox....kind of like this: http://digg.com/linux_unix/Firefox_Inside_Firefox
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+131Hah! I've bookmarked firefox!
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+80Direct link (sorta): chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
- ph3rny, on 10/12/2007, -6/+65I'm in your firefox... in... your... firefox...
- rluecke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+51Almost crashed my rig: Firefox inside Firefox (times 9!)

Firefox at 492MB memory usage. - KaneElson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+40Good for sorting your tabs, you can have base tabs as categories then under those tabs have the sites for that cat.
Hidden porn ftw. - bittermang, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40Or you could just post the address for the trick and cut the blogspam since it literally is a one line deal that requires little explanation.
Inside Firefox, in your address bar:
chrome://browser/content/browser.xul - teddyrux, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32http://digg.com/playable_web_games/How_to_Keep_Diggers_Busy_for_Hours
- Subvexer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28Also, a lot of people don't know this, but you can keep your weed in here.
- shoppingkart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27Useful, but reminds me of this: http://itstudent.org/blog/stuff2/ie-toolbar-hell.jpg
- hhdk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Imagine making this url as your startpage..
It didn't make the effect I wanted; An endless loop of FF :)
btw., I've just become an member of digg xD - HomelessDepot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24Neat. You can keep opening tabs inside of tabs too.
- BJ_Blaskowitz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23"Sweet honey bee of infinity!"
- S4MF1SHER, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Hey, you've got your Firefox in my Firefox!
- notjamt9000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17More chrome URLs:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Dev_:_Firefox_Chrome_URLs - oblongmouth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17this is cool, pointless but cool
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Ahhhh.
Memory Leak:
x = new Object(5);
x = new Object(7);
The one and only definition of memory leak. Dynamically allocated memory that has not been deleted yet contains no references in the program. Firefox does not do this. Really it should be illegal for non programmers to use programming terms. - 2shae, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17@rluecke:
492MB of ram is a lot for firefox but for Safari thats happens on a daily basis - Hyuuu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15kinky....
- Hennell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13you can join in the game of "How many firefox's can your firefox fox, before your firefox fox up"...
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12i dunno, so you can close all your porn at once?
its one of those things "because you can" not because its practical - toxicredm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10@sulf:
You can have two rows of tabs. It's called Tab Groups. http://lifehacker.com/software/organization/download-of-the-day-tab-groups-firefox-240094.php - magicmarc, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14Theres ads on digg?
- leoedin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10People give the plain duggmirror link because duggmirror automatically detects the referrer and redirects to the right place.
Obviously that doesn't work for those with referrer turned off (few and far between).
Don't criticise people when you have no idea what your criticising them for. - Applu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12I don't get the point of this... is there one? Honest question.
- penguinofhonor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I did it three times, then my computer started to get slow.
- 3leggedHorse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's the Russian doll for FF.
- sulf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@bittermang
Blogspam? Come on, those bloggers at least deserve some credit for showing us this trick. Copying and pasting to digg is just plain plagiarism. - sudhang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'd imagine it would make it easy for developers to test their extensions.
- thetaco82, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What about when you're hunting for information on something? Normally, my tabs get all mixed up and I can't find anything. Opening a new window just doesn't seem worth it either... Using this trick coupled with that tab renaming plugin? Is very nice :$D
- HolierThanYe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sure we could go outside and toss the football around. Or we could stay inside on the computer and do something that really matters.
- jfh214, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Same thing happens here so don't bury us! Also using 2.0.0.3
- jaytea90, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@rluecke
"Firefox at 492MB memory usage."
My firefox leaks upto 400MB everyday, so having firefox inside of firefox will mean two times the memory leak (wow fun) - kivimaki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"Have you tried the new Hot Pocket Hot Pocket?
It's a Hot Pocket inside a Hot Pocket.
Tastes just like a Hot Pocket."
- Jim Gaffigan - ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Actually, TabGroups seems kind of cool. It's a bit different from the multiple rows in TabMix Plus. As the name implies, the tabs are grouped into a 2 level hierarchy. Both extensions are useful in their own way, and it looks like they work together. I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion
- geniusNOTatWORK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Gmail inside Ff, Yahoo inside Ff, ebay inside Ff, Banking inside Ff ect. ect. ect….With all these favorites inside Firefox, How about Opening Firefox inside Firefox?"
This reminds me of that one Rocko's Modern Life episode when every room of Rocko's house became a bathroom. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Now with 10 times the memory leaks!
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3TabMix Plus also does the multiple rows of tabs.
- okokitsme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That ietoolbar capture is actually quite good ;-)
- dyzlexiK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It isnt plagurism any more than saying puttying #include is plagurism in every C program.
- sulf, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Not pointless at all. I've always been frustrated that you can't arrange tabs in two rows. Now there is a workaround.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4who's mere?
- Rayor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I don't know who dugg you down, but they suck because they didn't ketch the Futurama reference.
- splinecl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hehe, what a mess :)
- notjamt9000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Each add-on has chrome urls too:
DownThemAll: chrome://dta/content/dta/manager.xul
Fire FTP: chrome://fireftp/content/fireftp.xul - DaveHope, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Just crashes my firefox (2.0.0.3) :(
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Should have just posted the Wikipedia article
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_leak#Is_it_a_memory_leak.3F - blahtastic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I got 8 before I gave up...CPU was only around 60% though if I didn't do anything in the browser. I'd try more but I'm doing paper writing junk and would prefer not to crash at the moment :/ Another time I suppose.
Ah crap, this was supposed to be under the next comment...Makes more sense there...Digg down if you want. We really need a damn delete button. - Sanctity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice trick.
Doesn't work in Camino, though, which is Gecko-based. - SenorPez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This could be the dumbest thing ever to get frontpaged.
