Desktop Linux at a tipping point
desktoplinux.com — Veteran Linux journalist Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols came away from LinuxWorld convinced that the Linux desktop is on the threshold of an enormous opportunity, with PCs migrating from 32-bits to 64-bits, and Windows about to be replaced with Vista.

I mean so many years managing to stay on that balance point with no progress on hw vendor support, common marketing, and partnership with the rest of the marketplace is quite a feat.
