- jho406, on 12/31/2008, -2/+93I am really hating the Related by Keyword feature right now.
- s0m31john, on 12/31/2008, -32/+105Must have been a driver problem.
- davecachia, on 12/31/2008, -5/+60Can't believe some of these comments. How rude.
RIP Theimo. - metik, on 12/31/2008, -0/+41Wish his family the best. RIP
- JakeW, on 12/31/2008, -1/+38God damn it. I will digg you up. But I won't like it.
- HCviolence, on 12/31/2008, -0/+31Theres far too few supporters of this operating system to be losing a good one. Goodbye Thiemo and thank you.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+31R.I.P dude, my thoughts go out to his family
- Mark2600, on 12/31/2008, -1/+25Tragic. I'm not personally a Debian user, but his commitment to the project and community will be missed.
R.I.P. - infiniphunk, on 12/31/2008, -1/+23sad news; I just started using Debian again too for my new laptop, one of my very favorite distros. ugh.
R.I.P. Thiemo - RaulMuadDib, on 12/31/2008, -0/+15How do you turn it off?
- Hurricane, on 12/31/2008, -0/+14Most open source developers actually have paying day jobs, how else do you think they pay for a place to live with their computers and internet access?
- Lith25, on 12/31/2008, -1/+15Digging it up is just getting the word out. It's not like you are glad this event happened.
- SniperZero, on 12/31/2008, -3/+16sudo apt-get install --reinstall Thiemo
Thiemo Package not found.
:( R.I.P - ayam, on 12/31/2008, -0/+12To honour his contributions to Debian, the project decided to dedicate the upcoming release of Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 "Lenny" to Thiemo
R.I.P - codelogic, on 12/31/2008, -1/+13First of all, mourning the death of a person is hardly special treatment. I'd rather be alive than have an article about my death on Digg. Secondly, when people make contributions to the community and then something bad happens to them, word tends to get out, again this is hardly special treatment. It is merely acknowledgment and human gratitude. Maybe all this is way over your head.
- DangerCollie, on 12/31/2008, -1/+13We all owe open source developers a debt of gratitude. Unfortunate in this case that it has to come at an untimely passing.
- iceblizz, on 12/31/2008, -0/+12R.I.P.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -2/+13rest in pieces, thiemo.. you were rock n' roll personified. You lived life on the edge and you died like a man. we will miss your *****' ass.
- twiztidsinz, on 12/31/2008, -0/+11Adblock Plus Element Hiding Helper https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/436 ... It's pretty cool and simple to use.
- sexybobo, on 12/31/2008, -0/+10Adblock plus element hiding works great for me.
- Defiant001, on 12/31/2008, -1/+11Sad news to hear
- judicar, on 12/31/2008, -5/+15*rimshot*
- kingmanic, on 12/31/2008, -1/+11For a second I misread it as diebold. No one would miss a diebold employee. But debian, that is a tragedy. RIP.
- MattBD, on 12/31/2008, -0/+10They aren't renaming it. They're dedicating it to his memory, similar to how you often see at the end of films something like "Dedicated to the memory of such-and-such".
- codelogic, on 12/31/2008, -0/+10Oh yeah, more so than trolls.
- tattokris, on 12/31/2008, -0/+9sad face
- d0ugfunny, on 12/31/2008, -0/+9When someone dies it is always sad. But when something so sudden and unexpected as a car accident it is truly devastating. My condolences for the family.
- canthraxp, on 12/31/2008, -0/+8This is the most horrible comment I've seen on digg today... Dugg.
- uRmyHartBstopR, on 12/31/2008, -0/+8= [ Thank you for all of your contributions to the Linux community!!
- codelogic, on 12/31/2008, -0/+8"we come here for entertainment, even if that means being ***** to get it"
Speak for yourself. You might be an *****, doesn't mean everyone on Digg is. Don't want to read 200 comments of RIP? Move on to a more "entertaining" article. - idavidtang, on 12/31/2008, -1/+9With one heck of a crash.
- Seanathan, on 12/31/2008, -4/+12Zingggg
- twiztidsinz, on 12/31/2008, -0/+8Care to explain how? XD
I've used ABP for a long while but never really needed to get into the more detailed aspects of it. - ajde, on 12/31/2008, -2/+9Too soon.
- brettalton, on 12/31/2008, -2/+9What a nice jesture, to rename the next release from Lenny to Thiemo.
Such a tragic, tragic loss. - georanson, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7it just really makes you think
- Cglass, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7perhaps those words shouldn't be used in that particular order...
- LilBambi, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6So sad to lose such a great contributor to Debian.
Rest in Peace Thiemo Seufer. May your family be comforted during this tragic time. - Bicep, on 01/01/2009, -0/+6RIP Theimo. You will forever live in our hearts and in the good spirit that you have brought the world through your work on GNU/Linux and the future of technology as a whole. Thank you Sir. You will be missed greatly.
- nixw, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6Being an admirer of Debian and an Ubuntu user I especially want to express my thanks to Thiemo Seufer and other members of the Debian community's massive contributions to free software. Condolences to his family and friends. His dedication and passion will be greatly missed.
- quelcertoleo, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6RIP
- splattnik, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6I will remember you Thiemo, RIP!
- Hurricane, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6A huge sad loss to Debian....
I suppose his life source code is going back into the great source. - xireddawnix, on 12/31/2008, -4/+8Because if it were Steve Jobs, we'd have to praise the iLord or else.
Just ***** mourn the death of someone who actually helped make sure Gates and Jobs weren't the only two running the ***** OS world. - MattBD, on 12/31/2008, -1/+5Hate to say it but believe me, death can be timely. If you have to cope with an elderly relative who has dementia that can be very upsetting seeing their personality change. Under those circumstances you do find yourself wishing they would just die.
- ajde, on 12/31/2008, -1/+5Technology definitely has yet to catch on with the rules of tact and appropriateness.
- bhalo05, on 12/31/2008, -3/+7You are ***** sick.
I don't give a ***** if he was a Debian contributor or not. He was a human being, and a death is always sad. So, RIP. - ethana2, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4I think you meant to say something about That Great BitBucket in the Sky..
- Hurricane, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4If u say so, seems like u are not far behind me in the bury hole.
