- libbydib, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Hello Digg users,
Congrats on taking down my server in record time. I am doing my best to get it up again. - aldenhg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12You know about Alt-F2, right?
- Lapino, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Unfortunately, when compiz fusion has crashed, Alt-F2 sometimes doesn't work anymore, so this could be helpful in that situation. Although I have to say fusion has been running quite flawlessly for me the last couple of days.
- pointfivezero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I agree that 64bits should be more widely supported... I have recently switched back to i386 due to the lack of a native flash plugin and a broken compiz-fusion.
Now running i386 I find very little change with regard to speed with the exception of compiz-fusion, which is now running smoother and more stable than what it was in AMD64.
Now all I want is konqueror to load a bunch of plugins that made firefox useful... ergo: flash, noscript, fasterfox, tabmix, etc. - Purin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Down already.
Does anyone have a mirror? - fangorious, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I'd imagine the majority of casual desktop users since most consumer machines are still 32 bit.

- SatNav, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5any links to amd64 debs(for us chronically lazy people)?
- camtech, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3wow, did someone submit a bad link or did this really only last 15 minutes.
(submitted 15 minutes ago at time of post) - MrTea, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3For those of us using Arch linux, you can find a makepkg in AUR under fusion-icon-git.
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I have a 64-bit processor and I use 32-bit Ubuntu. It's a catch-22; 32-bit is much better supported.
- Tanath, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Really? Personally I've found CF to be much more stable than Beryl ever was for me. I've been using the Trevino repositories for both.
- TexanPsycho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2As much as I like Linux and open source, from a Windows user standpoint, I can't see why are we digging a tray icon. Digg me down but you know that I'm right.
- g2g079, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think this is it. http://download.tuxfamily.org/osrdebian/pool/unstable/compiz-fusion-git/fusion-icon_20070814~imudebian0_i386.deb

You... you... MUPPET! - g2g079, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is it http://download.tuxfamily.org/osrdebian/pool/unstable/compiz-fusion-git/fusion-icon_20070814~imudebian0_i386.deb for Ubuntu. Just install and run 'fusion-icon'
- nights0223, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It was submitted 23 hours ago...
- inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1I find Compiz more stable then both Beryl or Compiz Fusion.
- skinrock, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6Wrong architecture: i386.
Second time I've ran into that. I'd really like to know the percentage of users running Ubuntu that don't have a 64-bit processor. - inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1I find Compiz more stable then both Beryl or Compiz Fusion.
- WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I have 64 bit running and my only problems are Pidgin and Flash. Everything else works fine.
- pooptaster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You can also get it from nesl's repo (though it only takes like 5 seconds to build yourself anyway).
[compiz-fusion]
Server = http://arch.nesl247.org/compiz-fusion/i686 - tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Tangerines > Adobe Photoshop
- tomz17, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I've had a few problems with earlier versions, but i've been using the latest version for a while, and it hasn't crashed a single time!
- Elranzer, on 10/27/2007, -2/+2Dells>Apples
- realityiswhere, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0this makes it a lot easier, thanks.
Finally, a decent zoom plugin, awesome dock (AWN) compositor, entirely customizable window animations, and eyecandy enough to start a flamewar.. good thing I have my fire plugin... - hexydes, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'll second this.
- nixfu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Still think good old Beryl is much more stable than the Compiz stuff right now. Over the last months I have found that Beyrl 0.2 is ROCK SOLID running on my Fedora install. And its got almost all the things that Compiz does.
- dtiziani, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Apple > Apple (Beatles) :(
- Xilon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Archlinux has it in its repos... well, in an unofficial one.
- kl0ne, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0dugg for having a good point. just because you can run the 64bit version and it _mostly_ works doesn't really sound like a good promotional point.
- 7of7, on 10/10/2007, -6/+5Fusion-icon is definitely nice. Fusion is still a little buggy so it's good to be able to restart it without going to the terminal.
- mheath, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Why would you want to run the 64-bit version of Ubuntu in the first place? If you don't have more than 4GB of RAM, there's little point to doing so. Most of what you get with 64-bit Linux is compatibility and driver problems.
