- gavintlgold, on 02/07/2008, -0/+8I sure hope this helps Cinelerra with its problems, since right now it's very confusing, buggy, and ugly. I find kdenlive is the only good-enough Linux editor for practial uses (yes, I've tried kino, pitivi, and avidemux).
Maybe kdenlive and cinellera can get into the kind of playing-catchup rivalry that boosts development :) - ArthurSucks, on 02/07/2008, -0/+8I'd like to see it running a GTK (or equivalent) interface soon. It looks too outdated.
- z0mbie2099, on 02/07/2008, -0/+8It was inevitable, Cinelerra has so much potential and with GNU/Linux becoming house hold name there is a need for a video editor to compete against Adobe Premiere and Apple's Final Cut. Great news hope for the best on both ends.
- srg13, on 02/07/2008, -0/+6For sure - a new interface is definitely needed. Not necessarily because it looks ugly (and that doesn't matter - a lot of pro apps do), but because from the screenshots I've seen, it looks pretty horrible to work with.
- Velmont, on 02/07/2008, -0/+1Well, it's actually quite nice to work with when you know how it works. I've tried it many times, and a few weeks ago I gave it a real shot. I saw that it can be used for doing real things. But the codebase is old and hard to work with -- so that's why we need a new Cinelerra. :-)
