- farfromsubtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cheers to that, Gamecube is perfect.
- engalicorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Whats the point of Modding a GameCube?
Its already perfect. - BenStockwell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^^ Wrong. Linux can and should run on everything. Toasters and electric toothbrushes included.
- eqisow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1grayapple, Gamecube is PPC too. It's not just the processor architecture that stands in the way. Just saying...

Why do people have to be MS/Sony fanboys or too stupid to run Linux -- to not like this idea. You can pretty much cram Linux in anywhere, but why break a Gamecube to do it. Nothing wrong with the cube at all. - kimos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's pretty cool, but it's a rather specific set of instructions.... Not very useful to most people! :P
- russizm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Isn't a modchip required?
- PirateFSM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my head...pain...
- Leiterfluid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, umm. Just because linux CAN run on something, doesn't mean it should.
- iamirage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great, i think it will be very useful to me.
digg it. - russizm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To answer my own question:
Yes, unless you use the ultra slow method of using PSO. - 7yTaNOy7, on 04/15/2008, -0/+0Awesome! Let LINUX run where it will!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0""yay, i hope linux will be ported to the 360...would be the biggest irony imo...linux on a microsoft console...and 1 more reason to buy a 360"
It's already on normal Xbox buddy..."
i know man, im talking about the 360...i used the wrong words i guess :) - Darkshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Linux somehow manages to get on just about anything ... you know, Linux in every toaster.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is a good idea. to the people who say this is completely useless no its not. One you can use gclinux to run Mame and Roms. also some projects are getting it to use the gc as a myth front end. now you don't need a hd to have a myth front end I think there are tons of uses for it. So the people who are saying its useless are a bunch of Ms/Sony fanboys, or people who are to stupid to run Linux.
- grayapple, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've never understood the need to install Linux onto the Gamecube, I can see the point on an XBOX (since it's 99% PC) and XBOX360 (and thats PPC, where linux can run on without a problem). But I always thought most people who got a GameCube only really wanted to play games, thats why I bought one, I never wanted a media center system. Though if you can get a mini media center with a little hard drive type thing, I would be happy.
+Digg for the thought though - ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"yay, i hope linux will be ported to the 360...would be the biggest irony imo...linux on a microsoft console...and 1 more reason to buy a 360"
It's already on normal Xbox buddy... - michaelburns, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Pretty Sweet Dude...

The only people who would care are your other über geek friends."
My thoughts exactly. Is that some sort of dork rite of passage? - akinder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Ugh, I want to undigg this, I thought it was docs on the actual code changes needed, not some instructions on how to recompile the kernel after patching :(

- cosmotic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0How completely useless.
