- Sabretou, on 11/16/2007, -2/+84WTF is happening, why is the quality of comments for this article so damned terrible?
- badassninja, on 11/16/2007, -5/+70That... has to be a joke.
- cowboy77061, on 11/16/2007, -6/+33more reliable than Windows? check.
better performance than Windows? check.
better security than Windows? check.
free applications? check.
you = moron? check. - wes00mertes, on 11/16/2007, -3/+28Especially the fact that you said this on digg. For shame.
- Wartz, on 11/16/2007, -3/+15hes trying to set a digg down record, digg him up!
- slythfox, on 11/16/2007, -5/+17That line between the address bar and search bar is really UGLY.
- joe90210, on 11/16/2007, -2/+13yes, all of them are getting a refresh
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -2/+12Dear Trolls,
Linux is _NOT_ Windows.
~mini - greatcaffeine, on 11/16/2007, -4/+14Are you high?
- neko, on 11/16/2007, -5/+14Tango icons are very nice.
- Coldkill, on 11/16/2007, -3/+12idiot
- macoafi, on 11/16/2007, -1/+9Huh? I thought GNOME's clock applet used Evolution Data Server for the calendar part and NTPDate for syncing, and then nothing else.
- andycr512, on 11/16/2007, -0/+8"A patch submitted by Michael Ventnor makes the Firefox 3 toolbar use stock GTK icons from the user's GNOME icon theme."
About darned time. - Gambit89, on 11/16/2007, -1/+9What about KDE users?
- jdhore1, on 11/16/2007, -0/+7That line is gone...Or at least it was on my nightly trunk from the 10th of this month.
- Gavagai80, on 11/16/2007, -2/+9KDE users use Opera or Konqueror to avoid suffering those annoying firefox GTK dialogs.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 11/16/2007, -2/+9Thats...just...so...lame! If you hate Digg so much, why do you come on here and troll in unrelated topics with your flimsy puns? Firefox has the word fox, which censors news, which Digg is (according to you conspiracy nutjobs) doing, so that gives you an excuse to make stupid comments here? What next..."Honda launches new robot". Hang on, that robot can walk outside. There are gardens outside. The gardens contain flowers. Roses are a type of flower. KEVIN ROSE IS CENSORING ME!!!
- Fordi, on 11/16/2007, -2/+9By what standard?
- Megatog615, on 11/16/2007, -5/+12Gee, how about a QT port already?
- geehossiphats, on 11/16/2007, -0/+7At least you now have a choice. And that's whats most important.
- Elranzer, on 11/16/2007, -2/+8Firefox already blends well with Windows' default looks (Luna/XP, Aero/Vista and Classic/2000).
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -2/+8*sigh* trolls these days...
- drato, on 11/16/2007, -0/+6And I prefer everything on one of my systems to look the same (Honestly, firefox tabs have been driving me nuts). To each their own
- SimonGray, on 11/16/2007, -0/+6I don't think they have disabled the theme feature, so what is the problem?
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -1/+7Your obviously a fanboy because you have nothing else to base your comment on...
- Rice, on 11/16/2007, -1/+6Even on OS X, where it looks like ass?
- trylleklovn, on 11/16/2007, -5/+10You are left to rot.
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -2/+7I hope it will run better than Firefox 2 on Linux. Firefox 2 is a slow hog, terrible. I was about to use Epiphany when I luckily found Swiftweasel.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 11/16/2007, -1/+6Dugg you down. Reported you for being offensive. Blocked you. I Hate you.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5What if he hates choices too?
- andycr512, on 11/16/2007, -2/+7What a boring comment.
- andycr512, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4Download from here, it's included: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nig ...
- Darkhacker, on 11/16/2007, -2/+6The browser isn't the part causing most of the slowdown, it's Gecko. It's slow, bloated, leaks memory [1], and not as standards compliant as WebKit.
[1]: Before I get trashed by the "not a memory leak" crowd, I'm talking about Gecko, not Firefox, and yes it is filled with memory leaks. I'm a browser developer and if you actually run Gecko through a debugger/memory profiler you can see for yourself that it has leaks. - trylleklovn, on 11/16/2007, -6/+10I'm not sure i really want this. I can understand that it is important to keep GUI consistancy, but I really like that my firefox look the same on all my systems.
- jdhore1, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4The big stuff in FF3 is mostly done...Places just needs a bit more polish, work on the themes is ongoing, and all the new rendering stuff is in. It WILL probably be delayed a month or 2, but for all the new stuff, i'd say it's worth it...Look how delayed Xorg 7.3 or KDE4 are now...
- sint4x, on 11/16/2007, -1/+5You failed math, didn't you?
- Urusai, on 11/16/2007, -2/+5Screw that, we need a Motif port.
- LinuxKitty, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Epiphany is actually pretty good, and the ad blocking works better for me. I only got comfortable with it when I learned about about:config (same as in Firefox) so that I could properly configure it. (I use a 32-bit version of FF though, just for one page that requires Sun's original Java, and there are no 64-bit plugins yet).
- MrSunshine, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Hit F5.
- andycr512, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3It's a ton faster than 2. I'm using it now.
- andshewas, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3In which universe?
- coollettuce, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Can someone give me instructions on how to install this with GNOME icons enabled? Thanks.
- pixelbeat_, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2They optimized the justified text rendering at least for firefox 3 on linux:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30296 ... - andycr512, on 11/17/2007, -0/+2Standards are not recommendations. They are the way the web pages should be rendered. Microsoft has ignored them for far too long, making web designers' lives miserable trying to design pages that work for the clueless few who still use IE.
- LocDawg, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2Winestripe is way better.
- yohan, on 11/16/2007, -1/+3Certainly not to web standards!
- andycr512, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2FF3 has already fixed that for me for the most part.
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -1/+3Hmm... ... ... ... ... ... Maybe 1, but I can't remember it off the top of my head, and I think that it's a MS formed standard.
