- AngryAngryBrian, on 07/18/2008, -1/+61How about the WRT54GL?
- t3hmyth, on 07/18/2008, -1/+22Even though it runs Linux natively, I'd like to see the GP2X get mentioned every now and then.
- drcosquared, on 07/18/2008, -2/+20other things that don't run Linux very well: toasters
- sinembarg0, on 07/18/2008, -0/+16Wow. All of these are game consoles except the iPod, and the Playstations I would not consider hacking, as Sony sold the kit for PS2 and offered it stock on PS3. Where are the PDAs and Phones?
- orvtech, on 07/18/2008, -0/+16I have to disagree with you http://www.linuxscrew.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/ ...

Did I miss anything?

http://www.dd-wrt.com - mrlunix, on 07/18/2008, -9/+17Great list of pimped gadgets. I want to see Linux on iPhone though. Maybe soon.
- MrErr, on 07/18/2008, -1/+9They did not mention TomTom GPS. I bought a TomTom GPS without the Test2Speech capabilities because i was cheap and did not want to spend the $100. But i was able to install hacks onto the TomTom so that i did have text2speech.
- ncc74656m, on 07/18/2008, -0/+7No Eee, or are they just referring to things that can be hacked to run Linux, as opposed to things that run Linux that can be hacked? If so, the Chumby too.
- 4321234, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6No mention of dead badger?
- mithrasinvictus, on 07/18/2008, -2/+8it already uses linux by default

- melfster, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6I still use XBMC on my soft moded xbox today even though I have xbox 360.
- edwartica, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6Buried for being a total moron.
- THES0URCE, on 07/18/2008, -0/+5ipod's are such a pain in the ass to do, but it always cool to see the look on peoples faces when the code starts flying across the screen and you start playing doom.
- solarwind24, on 07/18/2008, -2/+7I'll be completely honest here. I bought my iPod ONLY to put Linux on it and fool around with that. It's fun to run Linux on iPod!
- orvtech, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4You left out the NSLU2

Just helping you out there. ;) - arjie, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3Dude, I hate to have to tell you this, but just sit down, and keep quiet. You've had too much to drink.
- ChayD, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4...and then realize that your battery is already flat after 5 mins :)
- tomz17, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3The xbox is BY FAR the most versatile of these... ESPECIALLY given that you can easily pick one up for $50 nowadays!
- redxxx, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3I love my 810, but I wish I'd bought the 800.
- edwartica, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4the hell?
- JoshuaH, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3More like the heaven, amirite?
- TheHappyToaster, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3No, I run linux just fine.
- jacobmp92, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3For the price? The N800 is of better value to me. Sure, the N810 has a keyboard and GPS, but it also only has 1 MiniSD slot in addition to the 2 GB space. The N800 has only 256 MB of onboard space, but it has two full-size SD slots, allowing for much more space to be used.
- asmith1243, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3The article was on POPULAR electronics... the GP2X simple ISN'T popular.
- bstock, on 07/18/2008, -1/+3Except the N810 ;)
- loneBoat, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Did you mean .*?
- TheMu, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2"The Linux Kit turns the PlayStation 2 into a full-fledged computer system, but it does not allow for use of the DVD-ROM drive except to read PS1 and PS2 discs due to piracy concerns by Sony. Noted open source software that compiles on the kit includes Mozilla Suite, X-Chat, and Gaim. Light-weight applications better suited to the PS2's 32MB of RAM include xv, Dillo, Ted, and AbiWord. The default window manager is Window Maker, but it is possible to install and use Fluxbox and FVWM."
Wow, stolen word-for-word from Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_for_PlayStation ... - orvtech, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2I think there could be a PEBCAC there
- intangible, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2The N810 gets built-in GPS and a hardware keyboard but a stationary camera and one micro-sd slot.
The N800 has a rotating camera and two full-sized sdhc slots (you can go up to 64GB!)
Other than that, they have identical hardware. I wish I could get the N810 with full-sized SD slots :(. - edwartica, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2I am going to have to buy an old ipod off craigslist, just to try this out. I think I'm too chicken to try it on my current ipod.
- santaliqueur, on 07/18/2008, -1/+3Please, you're an idiot who is trying to pass his comment off as "trolling".
- tobikow, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Yeah, i think the distro that it ran was "Nerfed" Linux, right?
- hugolp, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Plus the N810 gps takes for ever to lock and doesnt work that well. So its better to have an external GPS. Only good thing about the N810 might be the external keyboard, wich I personally dont like.
With the N800 you get the same processor, better speakers, and two SD slots. And its cheaper. For me its an easy decision. - tomz17, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Not entirely... it runs as a regular app once you softmod the xbox. It doesn't require a full installation of linux.
- robbyjo, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2What about Wii?
- TheKitchenSinkX, on 07/18/2008, -1/+3LAME. I wanted to see Linux on my dishwasher or something.
- celkin, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1FIRST!!!
- tobikow, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Article failed to mention that you can softmod an xbox, and don't need a mod chip at all.
XBMC is linux based too, right? -
