- Keithamus, on 08/03/2008, -0/+10Could you clarify that? The tango set are built for linux, gOS is a linux based OS, Crystal is KDE, KDEMod is clearly tango inspired, and both iOS and BWS are original sets, to the best of my knowledge.
The only two icon sets from another OS are the Mac ones, so if anything, this whole article is 20% trying to look like Mac, 80% trying to look like various flavours of Linux... - golvin, on 08/03/2008, -0/+8huh?? I see only 9 sets...
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -1/+6There is an icon set called black-white 2 that is really nice-looking, if you don't mind the color scheme

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/CrashBi ... - CCmachined, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5you like bitching when people give you free stuff?
- Galaxylander, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3You can use these on Mac OS X as well, just use something like Candybar.
- InorganicMatter, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Why would I want to change the gorgeous Oxygen set that came with my OS?
- pikelet, on 08/03/2008, -1/+3Sadly, this article is exactly what I expected. Why are there never any remotely original icon sets for Linux? They're all 'influenced' by Mac OS (at least that Leopard set pointed out that was it's aim - but look at icomty..), plain uncreative, tacky, don't fit well together, or blatantly copy pre-existing icons for a different app (Adrix, with those MS Office for Mac icons being used for OpenOffice and a bunch more straight from OS X).
It's possible to make a distinctive, original icon set - look at Tango and Human - but I am sick of these rip-off sets getting all the praise. Sure, they serve a purpose, to make things look pretty - but it's honestly just lazy. Come up with your own metaphor for a network and stop with Apple's blue globe thing. If you hate MS so much, why use it's Office icons for OpenOffice?! - macewan, on 08/02/2008, -1/+3Nice list. I remember the days we flocked to themes.org for the latest and greatest.
- DeathGod321, on 08/03/2008, -1/+2Why not cuil? What if I'm looking for hot icon porn?
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+1Crashbit is the best

- phaedrusnz, on 08/03/2008, -1/+2Dugg for someone actually managing to call it GNU/Linux.
Appreciated, as there are some cool sets in there too :) - jaikob, on 08/03/2008, -1/+2There is a better mac icon set then what is on the website. Look up mac4lin in your search engine of choice, but not cuil.
- Futsuriai, on 08/03/2008, -0/+0Black-White is where it's at. Nice and elegant.
