Web/Business Analyst

DESCRIPTION

The Web/Business Analyst is responsible for tracking key business metrics for online user behavior, email campaigns, sponsor campaign and feature performance. The ideal candidate will be someone who loves to use numbers to identify trends to make actionable recommendations. The Web/Business Analyst is responsible for Digg's Web analytics strategy and will work cross-functionally with development, product management, marketing and business development regularly. They will also help drive traditional online market research efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collection, assessment and distribution of website analytics, aggregating internal and external data sources, publishing standardized reports, creating actionable trend information based on research
  • Identify and measure key performance metrics for user behavior and marketing effectiveness (user growth, engagement, abandonment, campaign ROI, segmentation)
  • Define business and technical requirements for internal tracking systems (to measure sponsor campaigns, email outreach, Web assets, funnel analysis, etc.)
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports and dashboards to include trending, analysis, and recommendations. Present to functional leads and executive teams
  • Manage day-today relationships with the Web analytics and online research vendors. Continue to seek out possible vendors whose products will further add value to the department
  • Ensure that internal stakeholders have the information required to make informed business, product, marketing and sales decisions. Perform ad hoc business analysis for product, marketing and business development teams
  • Develop, maintain and update analytical models to measure the success of marketing initiatives using web-based analytics tools
  • Assist in development of business cases and analysis of new features, marketing efforts, and partner campaigns
  • Develop and drive traditional market research and work with research vendors to present core metrics
  • Work across disciplines to deliver and optimize defined performance metrics
  • Play an active role in departmental presentations and decks by gathering necessary statistics, market research and studying industry and competitive trends
  • Participate in product development and define the requirements needed to properly troubleshoot and support system enhancements. Support the development and testing teams through the software development lifecycle to implement improvements and bug fixes
  • Monitor the quality and integrity of the data in the system and reports being produced. Work with Operations to ensure Web analytics tools and internal data warehouse are working properly
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years Web Analysis experience including: measures, terminology, benchmarks
  • Familiarity with metrics for online consumer businesses (user acquisition, clickstream analysis, marketing efficiency, consumer lifecycle, etc.)
  • Previous experience with Web analytics packages is mandatory (e.g., HBX, Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Experience with online research tools, such as comScore Media Metrix, Nielsen NetRatings, eMarketer, Jupiter, Forrester, etc
  • Understanding of traditional market research techniques, statistical reporting and panel methodologies
  • Strong skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis
  • Deep understanding of online business models and processes and a strong understanding of marketing concepts and strategies

This position has a broad set of responsibilities spanning all areas of business development for Digg. User Interface Designer

DESCRIPTION

Digg is looking for a multi-skilled designer to join our crew. We're hoping to find someone who can work with our small team on all of our design projects, big and small.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Obviously, you'll be working a lot on our main site, but we'll also be looking for design work on periodic print projects, side sites, partner programs, and all the other little bits of work that crop up. And because we've got a tiny design group here, you'll be working on everything from the planning stages, to initial concepts, to css/xhtml implementation, to working with the developers who will integrate your work.

Senior Product Manager

DESCRIPTION

Digg is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Product Manager to help oversee various components of the Digg site. Reporting to the Director of Product, this position requires a product visionary who enjoys collaborative problem solving in a cross-functional environment.

Product Manager, Advertising and Syndication

Digg works closely with advertisers and strategic partners to develop programs that extend Digg's reach, relevance, and revenue. We are looking for a creative and driven Product Manager to oversee the implementation and evolution of partner programs on Digg as well as the integration of Digg on 3rd party sites. Reporting to the Director of Product, this person will play an important role in establishing and expanding Digg's presence on the Web, while developing new revenue opportunities on the core Digg site.

Project Manager

DESCRIPTION

Digg is looking for an experienced Project Manager who is a stickler for detail and loves delivering initiatives on time and within scope. You will report to the Director of Product and work closely with Digg's Development and Design teams to scope, monitor, and launch our most important product initiatives. This is the first project management hire within Digg so you will have the opportunity to help define the evolution of this function within the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with Digg's Product Management, Development, and Design teams to scope projects, develop resource estimates, and coordinate resource availability
  • Serve as Scrum Master on project Sprints, ensuring that teams are aware of key deliverables and progress is tracked accurately and transparently
  • Manage team resource calendars
  • Monitor, evaluate and communicate project risks, issues, scope, and timeline and provide guidance accordingly to team members. Ensure project execution occurs successfully during defined timelines
  • Coordinate issue resolution with individual task owners during project implementation phase, as needed
  • Present routine reviews of high-level projects in progress to senior management
  • Lead post-mortems of recently launched projects to surface strengths and areas for improvement. Collaborate with senior management to apply lessons from past projects so as to continually improve our product development processes

Director of Public Relations

Digg is looking for a Senior Public Relations Manager to develop and drive PR strategies and tactics for Digg. This position provides the opportunity to play a key role in increasing Digg's media exposure and positioning the brand. S/he will develop strategic plans, proactively drive communications, and secure media placements and speaking opportunities. Candidates will have a proven record of success in developing and executing PR programs, and demonstrated success with both traditional and new media. The Public Relations Manager reports to our Director of Marketing.

Digg is looking to add two QA Analysts to join our crew in San Francisco.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We're looking for someone with hands on experience with QA methodology, testing techniques and approaches. As well, this person should be detail oriented, have a passion for testing and the ability to work independently. Experience working with use cases, web testing tools, test automation, and load testing are all a plus but not required. Ideally this person would already be very familiar with Digg and knowledgeable of how the site works and the various features. Digg is an incredibly fun place to work - and our QA team is at the center of development and operations and works very closely with the rest of the company. This role is entry level, includes lots of opportunities to learn and grow in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-3 years experience working in a web development environment - in any role
  • General understanding of the importance of QA and a passion for working in a test environment
  • General understanding of LAMP technologies. Hands-on technical experience not required, but preferred.
